About United in China
Commencing service to China in 1986 as the first U.S. carrier to launch nonstop services between China and the U.S, United has flown between the U.S. and China for 25 years. As a global carrier with an extensive trans-Pacific network, United offers most nonstop trans-pacific routes between China and the U.S. with daily nonstop flights from Beijing to Washington D.C., Chicago, San Francisco and New York; from Shanghai to Chicago, San Francisco and New York; and from Hong Kong to Chicago, San Francisco and New York. With the launch of a new, daily, nonstop service between Shanghai and Los Angeles on May 21, 2011, United offers 11 daily nonstop flights between China and the U.S. In addition, United operates daily nonstop flights from Hong Kong to Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as twice-weekly service between Hong Kong and Guam. All flights to China are operated by B747-400 or B777 aircraft.
