EDF Group is a leading player in the European energy market and the leading nuclear operator in the world. As an integrated electricity company with nearly 70 years of power development experiences, EDF has comprehensive world-class industrial competitiveness in nuclear power, thermal power, hydropower and new energy power generation. Founded in 1946 as a public establishment responsible for the national power supply in France, EDF was transformed into an anonymous company largely owned by the French government in 2005 (84.9%) and was listed in the Paris Stock Exchange market.
By the end of 2015, EDF Group has a total installed generation capacity of 134.2GW worldwide. Among them 54% came from nuclear power (72.5GW), 15% from coal and fuel oil (20.1GW), 9% from CCGT (12.1GW), 16% from hydropower (21.5GW) and 6% from other renewable energies (8.1GW). In France, EDF has a total installed capacity of nearly 100 GW.

• Taishan (2009): JV company co-founded by CGN (51%), EDF (30%) and Yuedian (19%), to own, build and operate the two EPR reactors of 1,750 MW
• Shandong SZPC: 3 coal-fired power plants with total installed capacity of 3000MW, owned by Guodian (51%) CEIC (29.4%) and EDF (19.6%).
• Henan Datang Sanmenxia (2x600MW): supercritical coal-fired power plant owned by Datang (60%) EDF (35%) and SCIC (5%).
• Fuzhou (2x1000MW): ultra supercritical coal-fired power plant owned by Datang (51%) and EDF (49%).

法国电力成立于1946年，作为公共事业部门负责全法国电力供应，担负国家电力公共服务的使命。2005年改制为国有股份公司，国家现持有法国电力集团84.9%的股份。
至2015年底，法国电力集团在全球总装机容量为13420万千瓦（134,2 GW），其中核电7247万千瓦（54%），燃煤燃油机组2013万千瓦（15%），燃气机组1208万千瓦（9%），水电2147万千瓦（16%），其他可再生能源805万千瓦（6%）。在法国的总装机容量近一亿千瓦。
法国电力集团在中国
• 台山核电项目（2009年）：法国电力集团与中广核集团成立合营公司，广核集团控股51%，粤电19%，法国电力集团持股30%，共同拥有、建设并运行广东台山核电站两台1750兆瓦EPR核电机组；
• 山东中华电力项目：总装机容量为3060兆瓦的三个燃煤电厂。国电集团控股51%，法国电力集团持股19.6%；
• 河南三门峡项目（2x600兆瓦）：超临界燃煤机组。大唐集团控股60%，法国电力集团持股35%。
• 江西抚州项目 （2x1000兆瓦）：超超临界燃煤项目。大唐国际和法国电力集团分别持股51%和49%。
