Opendesk furniture is mostly made from imported Scandinavian plywood and is customizable through the use of our technology. This creates new opportunities for designers and end users in the office furniture market, but it also means that the sales team needs to have a solid understanding of our products and a close working relationship with our Design & Engineering team to provide solutions to clients

The Role:
Your role is to be a sales representative for the Opendesk brand in Beijing, which is a key market for Opendesk. You will create, develop and close sales opportunities within the Beijing architect and design market and develop key account plans for the workspace end user clients.
You will report directly to Head of Workspace Solutions in Shanghai.

Responsibility:
● Develop integrated relationships with the key architects, end users and decision-making units within focus accounts.
● Develop, maintain and grow a personal network within the industry.
● Integrate with the Opendesk workspace Shanghai team to develop a clear defined way of working with the clients based in Beijing.
● Commercially negotiate with the end users or buyers.
● Work with the necessary supply chain to deliver the project, manage the client PR through the process of signing off and completion

Skills/attributes:
● Self-motived, very high drive but also a strong team player.
● Strong written & verbal communication skills in both Mandarin Chinese and English (CET 6 or equivalent level).
● Enjoys the challenge of a key role in a fast-paced startup environment. (requires being comfortable with uncertainty and self-managing tasks - significant freedom and responsibility will be given but high performance expected!).
● A very naturally high attention to detail and an interest in design
● Cultural fit with core Opendesk values: open, respectful, customer-oriented, passionate, team player.

Experience & education:
● Minimum a bachelor level university degree
● Minimum 5 years’ relevant sales experience, preferably in contract projects market

We are ready to grow, and have recently established a Chinese business under the Opendesk开桌brand. We intend to develop furniture sales in our traditional office furniture segment but also develop the Opendesk 开桌 brand to bring it to a wider audience.

We have established a relationship with Douban.com, and in line with the DNA of our brand, we will seek to use this as a channel for content marketing. This will help to build our design-led brand through stories and content around design, furniture, fabrication and craftsmanship in a way that entertains, educates and inspires people to develop themselves. We also plan to use this as a sales channel to consumers – this will be developed during 2017.
