We are looking for a Project Operations Manager to be responsible for the delivery of office furniture ordered by clients. Opendesk is a platform and does not own any manufacturing facilities but works in partnership with makers and fabricators to fulfill orders as close to the client as possible. This means that the Project Operations Manager is a key role in the company; the role s client-facing and maker partner-facing and important; we are looking for the right person with strong interpersonal and project management skills; someone enjoys getting things done in a fast moving, high performing startup environment and is experienced and independent.

The Role:
The Project Operations Manager is, together with the Sales manager and Lead Designer, responsible for successfully delivering the direct sales furniture projects to clients in Greater China. The Sales team takes responsibility for converting leads to projects, where needed involving the Design team. The responsibility area of the Project Operations Manager is to select a maker (subcontractor) for each project, to agree delivery date and details with both the client and the maker/installation team, and to ensure a smooth and timely delivery to the client site by the maker.

This requires regular communication with our verified network group of local makers in China to understand their capacity and specific capabilities/services of each maker. Opendesk wants to work in true partnership with these makers, and the Project Operations Manager is responsible for making sure that these partnerships work as well as for developing new makers as our business grows.

We are looking for a hands-on, experienced person who is experienced in handling multiple concurrent projects with internal and external deadlines, ideally a skilled and highly motivated individual who could grow within the company as the size of the business grows and the team needs to expand further.

The role is also responsible for After Service (any quality issues, customer questions etc) which also often leads to follow-up sales. We have a high re-purchase rate among our customers.

● Fluent (or ability to quickly become fluent) with key design software tools in use at Opendesk: AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Rhino, Sketchup and other
● Good communicator in (Mandarin) Chinese and English.
● Enjoys the challenge of a key role in a fast-paced startup environment. (requires being comfortable with uncertainty and self-managing tasks - significant freedom and responsibility will be given but high performance expected!).
● Self-motived, very high drive but also a strong team player (within the China team but also with colleagues/partners abroad).
● A very naturally high attention to detail and an interest in design
