FUNCTION:

Serve as a liaison for selected product categories, between vendor and U.S. Sourcing, Design & Product Development, and Purchasing departments, from Concept thru Production, supporting them to meet key Seasonal Product Calendar due dates and Flex PLM support.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (Note: Other duties may be assigned)

? Assist in sourcing, product development and execution of strategies and tactics related to the successful management of all Vera Bradley product categories.
? Collaborate within a cross-functional, team-oriented process involving U.S. teams such as Sourcing, Design & Product Development, and Purchasing as well VBC Purchasing and Quality team and other stakeholders.
? Optimize supplier capabilities to address business requirements
? Support all cost and pricing elements related to the specific product categories
? Participate in supplier sourcing, evaluation and selection.
? Communicate and negotiate with suppliers cost and lead-time, and conduct cost-analysis
? Coordinate seasonal bidding process, samples, and milestone tracking with suppliers
? Coordinate tech pack/sample submittals, sample approvals, communication and follow up between factories.
? Place, monitor and track seasonal sample purchase orders for selected product categories and ensure on time delivery (Proto, Photo, Salesmen, Pre-Prod, and Production samples)
? Manage seasonal Vera Bradley Product Specific key dates calendar
? Compare samples and administer accuracy of data in Flex PLM (BOM, costing, product and vendor library)
? Oversee day to day communication with the Design teams to achieve aesthetic intent and interpret Design needs
? Responsible for ensuring accurate Design interpretation, high quality execution of sampling and timeliness throughout the Concept, Development, Pre-Production and Production stages
? Work with VBC sample room/vendor to interpret design requests, advise changes and meet key due dates
? Confirm final BOM matches back to approved Pre- Production sample, prior to hand off to Quality
? Responsible to hand off approved Pre-Production sample to VBC Quality
? Assist with all Pre -Production development, ensuring standards are set and material and product testing is completed prior to production for all new styles.
? Assist the US Product Development team in problem solving on any issues as needed.
? Coordinate and participate in supplier visits.
? Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
? Participate in continuous improvement projects.
? Assume additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or instructed


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

? 5+ years experience in sourcing, development and manufacturing for fashion consumer goods exported to the US market
? Good understanding of the principles of product development, sourcing, purchasing and quality.
? Strong, effective, and proven negotiating skills with strong decision making ability.
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
? Good understanding of business mathematics.
? Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
? Analytical, data driven approach with an attention to detail, well organized.
? Ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple projects across many suppliers adhering to time sensitive responses.
? Results oriented. Must be goal driven, take the initiative and be independent.
? Positive attitude, ethics, and international values which support Vera Bradley’s core values, and a healthy, high performance culture
? Windows based PC experience with strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook including advanced skills in spreadsheet, database and graphing applications, SAP and PLM experience preferred.
? Candidate must have the capability and willingness for advancement.
? Working knowledge of local and global social and business
? Knowledge/Experience in updating design details and measurements in Adobe Illustrator
? Strong fashion sense and the ability to interpret trends and translate 2D sketches into 3D samples
? Must be able to synthesize and structure results for oral and written presentations
? High level ability to creatively solve problems
? Ability to understand and interpret Design direction and articulate ideas to multi cultural team
? High level of flexibility and the ability to change priorities
? Ability to anticipate potential issues at an early stage
? Knowledge of Vera Bradley products/brand preferred
? Excellent communication skills, both oral and written (including English)
? Cross-cultural sensitivity
