The Chinalco-Rio Tinto Exploration (“CRTX”) company was established in 2011 to explore for copper, coal, potash, iron ore, nickel and borates in the People’s Republic of China. The company is a joint venture between two of the world’s leading minerals and metals producers – Chinalco and Rio Tinto. We aim to operate as a seamless organisation that maximises the benefits of standard and shared approaches for every activity.The Company’s objective is to maximise total shareholder return by sustainably finding, developing, mining and processing natural resources. Our major exploration targets are copper, coal and potash. Our activities are concentrated within China. To assist with growing and developing CRTX’s business in China, we are looking for 1 HSE Advisor/Specialist to join CRTX, reporting to HSEC Manager.
Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
1. Maintain HSEC policy, HSEC management system, and programs.
2. Provide HSEC related training for management and employee.
3. Provide consultation on HSE related regulations and operation requirements to ensure all operations are conducted in conformity with legal requirements as well as other operational constraint such as adopted industry standards.
4. Organize regular HSE meetings to review HSE performance, discuss HSE issues from our operation, and review & approve some HSE related proposals and plans.
5. Develop and implement emergency response plan and organize regular drills to identify gaps and areas for improvement, and improve the company’s emergency response capability.
6. Organize regular audits to identify the improving area during the implementation of the HE SMS.
7. Join in the investigation of accidents/incidents and non-conformance at certain levels and provides recommendations on corrective actions.
8. Foster the HSE culture through all kinds of HSE campaigns based on risks and existing issues from our operation to decrease behavior based accidents.
To be considered for this role you will have:
1. 5 years or above years of HSE management experience, onsite HSE management experience preferred.
2. Fluent English speaking
3. NEBOSH certificate or safety engineer certificate is preferred
4. Driving license is needed.
