职位描述
Responsibilities:
The scope of the position is both short-term in support of annual operating plan initiatives as well as long term in support of new business growth opportunity creation
Provide and manage a vision for shopper & market insights
Play an instrumental role under the strategic guidance of the APAC CMI Director in developing and driving the impact of a BIC shopper & market insights capability in the Business
Assess, pre-empt and guide the market measurement and shopper insight needs and agenda priorities for the China Sales and Category Management teams so as to effectively inspire and guide key business decisions
Act as a key business partner and consultant to the Business by being responsible for leading, and in part conceptualizing, designing, and executing (or overseeing the execution of) shopper & market insights projects, evaluating and effectively communicating the resulting information and insights in a synthesized form to build knowledge and inform high-level decisions
Take a leading role in communicating findings and disseminating the learning and their implications so as to drive business actions.
Build and sustain mutually beneficial strategic partnerships with outside vendors and agencies. As appropriate, evaluate proposals, negotiate fees, select vendors, and monitor product quality.
Continuously review, improve and expand the shopper & market insights capabilities and expertise to address fast evolving and demanding business needs. This involves evaluating current trends and new approaches in the field of shopper and market measurement and insights
Manage efforts to best leverage and drive more sophisticated analysis of the Nielsen sales data and actively collaborate with the Sales Operations team to drive synergies with how the sales data is used.
Work closely with the regional and global CMI network to champion marketplace intelligence learning exchange and best practices Pro-actively collaborate with other functions (Sales, CatMan, Marketing and R&D etc.) to develop a positive and productive working relationship.
Pro-actively encourage and facilitate strong collaboration practices with Mars China cross-segment shopper insights teams
Attract, develop and retain key CMI talent and ultimately build a high performance and sustainable shopper & market insights team. Directly shape the functional excellence, engagement and career development of direct reports by providing coaching and creating relevant assignment opportunities, recommending training and monitoring progress towards professional objectives
Requirements
The position requires an individual with a minimum of 12 years experience in market measurement and research, shopper insight and analytics.
Client side experience of working for a multi-national or large reputable FMCG company in the Asia region is a must. Additional agency side experience on market measurement, analytics and shopper insights would be a plus.
The role requires comprehensive knowledge of retailers, retailer relationships, shopper purchase behaviours and a clear understanding of the importance of shopper insights in a FMCG manufacturer environment.
Managerial experience is also a must i.e. demonstrate ability to lead and coach more junior team members.
Academic requirements: University Batchelor Degree e.g. Business, Liberal Arts or Statistics.
MBA is a plus
Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English, both orally and written.
Computer literacy i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word and basic database management skills
Key technical skills-experience of and proficiency in at least 3 of the following areas is essential:
o Analytics i.e. marketing mix modeling, forecasting, assortment modeling etc.
o Price/promotion
o Shopper Insights
o Market measurement and in-market testing
