Use translation software (Trados) and Technical Publications tools (Adobe FrameMaker and possibly Quadralay ePublisher and Adobe Acrobat) to translate documentation, technical notes, and Marketing collateral from English into Chinese.

Assist in developing and maintaining translation processes and standards. Work closely with another translator to ensure that consistent translation standards are applied across all projects. Work closely with dotted line manager in U.S.

Coordinate with translation vendor for preprocessing and postprocessing files. This position could on occasion include providing translation in the source files.

This position may include assisting with translating applications and could include replacing screen captures in documentation with translated versions.


Required:
? Excellent Chinese speaking and writing skills
? Excellent English speaking and writing skills
? Knowledge of analytical chemistry
? 1+ years’ experience translating and localizing hardware and software documentation

Preferred:
? Bachelor’s in Chemistry or related field
? Experience with computer-aided translation software
? Practical industry experience
? Knowledge of technical writing industry standards
? Good FrameMaker and desktop publishing skills. Experience creating PDF files
