Asia Corporate Controller
Reports to: Asia Finance Director
Supervision: Internal Control Team, Accounting Share Service Team & Tax Team.
Position Summary
The Accounting leader of a $600MM manufacturing and service business operating in two countries. The Asia Corporate Controller is a key partner to the Asia Finance Director and Operations Leadership Team is responsible for all Internal Control, Accounting Share Service and Tax in the region. The position also works closely with US corporate headquarters on issues related to Internal Control and accounting shared services.
Responsibilities
- Manages the team of over 20 employees, specialized in Internal Control, Accounting Share Service and Tax.
- Internal Control:
·Policy & Procedure - Establishes and monitors key performance metrics to identify process improvements and cost savings opportunities. Defines a high level framework of processes, linkages, critical success factors and performance measures. Studies best practices; challenges current work models and sets standards for improvement ideas.
·Compliance - Ensures financial controls are appropriate and monitored for compliance. Provides direction on and interprets legal and company compliance issues.
·Internal & External Audit - Follows up the action plan is implemented as requested by the Internal Auditors. Function as bridge between Corporate and External Auditors on all the external audit issues.
·Accounting - Accounting treatment for Local and US GAAP for any specify transaction. Transition on the IFRS per the Corporate roadmap.

- Accounting Share Service:
· Set Up Accounting Share Service Team - To build up centralized Accounting Share Service organization by reorganizing the existing site finance team to support all operations in the region.
· Process & Procedure - To standardize and formalize working process/procedure and service standard across the accounting share service organization.
- Organization:
· Organization Development - Develops the organization to upgrade the capability of Internal Control, Tax and Accounting Share Service.
·Defines the specific achievement levels needed for department success; sets baseline expectations, monitors results and encourages group toward high level performance.
·Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Job Knowledge & Skills

- Financial or Accounting degree (Advanced degree or CPA is a plus) with 12-15 years experience with at 5-7 years of direct management of staff (managers and staff) in a multi-national corporate Accounting/Finance capacity engaged activities related to one or more of the following: general accounting, cost accounting, tax or financial audits and demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Travel within with in Asia.
- Substantial experience with Hyperion and SAP reporting packages
- Solid experience with finance accounting share service operation and management.
- Able to consistently contribute effort, leadership, and creative thinking to solving complex and significant problems in a collaborative fashion. Must be able to demonstrate an ability to work concurrently on multiple complex and sometimes ambiguous problems. Able to communicate complex concepts, problems and solutions clearly and effectively to all levels within the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to perform at the highest level of proficiency in utilizing tools and applications to complete assignments. Able to work on special projects to enhance internal system functionality from the operational business perspective.
- Requires excellent communication skills with all levels of audience. Able to structure messages in keeping with listener's experience, background and expectations. Able to adapt communication style and use terms, examples, and analogies that are meaningful to the listener.
- Able to communicate in an effective and approachable style that engages others and builds credibility. Able to provide rationale when delivering complex or challenging information.
- Able to determine the most appropriate medium when conveying information to large groups or to reinforce a message. Able to understand the impact of communications on the organization or customer, including any legal/regulatory implications.
