Role Summary
The inspection engineer will perform documented inspections in the verification of conformance of the components to applicable drawings, procedures, specification, and all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. The inspector is accountable for the content of the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and project quality plan according to customer’s and Flowserve’s specifications and international standards. In addition, the inspector is responsible for defining, advising, and controlling all project required QC documents.
Key Responsibilities
· Document the dimensional and visual inspections to the drawing or applicable procedures.
· Document the non-conforming material utilizing an NCR process.
· Visit suppliers and witness the tests on the castings, machined parts, or assembly following the Flowserve and/ or international standards for quality inspection.
· Report the supplier real progress to the project manager upon site visits.
· Review and verify the internal & external qualifications of suppliers, welders, NDE personnel regarding the Non-Destructive Examinations (NDE), welding procedures and/or other applicable requirements.
· Review and approve the supplier’s manufacturing and testing documents/procedures and to take care for approval (when required) of these documents by the internal or external customer as well as the authorized inspection body.
· Prepare and define test and inspection requirements for the projects such as ITP and procurement specifications.
· Manage the customer complaints and warranty relating to the orders; actively participate in the root cause analysis process; and ensure a preventive measure is established.
Qualification:
· Bachelor in mechanical engineering and 3+ years of relevant experience in the casting, Mould, machined part inspection.
· Proficient in interpreting assembly and machining drawings, with in depth understanding of geometry dimensioning and tolerancing.
· Proper use of all ranges of inspection equipment and tooling found in machining, assembly, and test operations is essential.
· Knowledge of the international code (e.g., ASTM), welding, NDE and quality systems.
· Knowledge of the established quality standards, laws, and regulations of national and international authorities.
· Practical knowhow of CMM measurement is a plus.
· Experience in foundry and machining process is a plus.
· Possess Levell II or higher non-destructive testing certification is a plus.
· Flexible, eager to learn, accurate, analytical with positive, can-do attitude.
· Flexibility and willingness to travel: The candidate will visit suppliers frequently.
· Good analytical and critical thinking skills.
· Able to read/ write and communicate in both Chinese (local) and English (international).
