职位描述

熟悉机加工艺,有一定的英文阅读能力,能看懂美标机械图纸,指导本地供应商进行零部件的加工制作。

Drives Supplier APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) for new suppliers and / or new parts with existing suppliers in order to facilitate the cost effective procurement of parts and equipment for industrial products. Can read the machine drawings and guide the suppliers for production.


Identify, plan and implement Supplier Continuous Improvement activities via VE / VA, Kaizen, Lean Deployment and / or Six Sigma methodologies.  Determine disposition of Supplier PPAP or FAI submissions and train Suppliers to UIC expectations and requirements.


This position reports directly to Supply Chain Manager - Asia, based in Shenzhen, China

Principal Accountabilities:

1.    Travel to supplier production locations to assist the Asia Sourcing Office Supply Chain Manager in identifying potential suppliers and assessing potential suppliers’ production processing capabilities so as to ensure suitability to low-volume, high model mix, high precision tolerance parts.


2.    Facilitate quotation / design / processing review meetings with supplier engineering representatives during pricing negotiations to ensure that parts will be produced to UIC specifications at the target cost.


3.    Investigates potential suppliers, sourcing, supplier selection, evaluation, continued development of Asian master supplier data on the basis of cross-functional teams to ensure that demand is met to the highest possible degree and to implement joint cost reduction objectives.


4.    Serve as a roadblock remover to ensure that APQP target dates are successfully met

5.    Proactively work with suppliers to minimize and / or eliminate production launch issues.


6.    Adaptation and implementation of efficient forms of organization, procedures and processes to ensure rationalization potential, to optimize productivity, and to meet safety requirements, taking operational effects into account.


7.    Initiate and track suppliers’ continuous improvement activities with measurable cost reduction results.

8.    Analyzes technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities and availability of parts and equipment.

9.    Consults with Engineering personnel to establish performance criteria and specifications for manufacturing and testing.

10. Advises company personnel, suppliers and customers of nature and function of parts and equipment.

11. Works closely with supplier representatives regarding specifications, costs, inspection and any problems relating to the parts and equipment.

12. Arranges and participates in conferences between suppliers and engineers, purchasers, inspectors or other company personnel to facilitate material inspection, substitution, standardization, rework, salvage and economical procurement of all parts and equipment.

13. Suggests and coordinates sourcing changes with buyers.


Minimum Requirement

1.    Bachelor degree, major in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related education; + five years of related experiences in procurement / supply chain as well as cross-functional experience is preferred.

2.    Strong knowledge of and / or experience with manufacturing processes for mechanical and / or electro-mechanical components.

3.    The ability to read, analyze and interpret blueprints and technical procedures.  The ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from both internal and external clients.

4.    Strong interpersonal skills to interact with various levels of supplier organizations.  The ability to define problems, collect necessary data, establish the facts and draw valid conclusions, and take corrective actions.  The ability to use various inspection equipment as required.

5.    Good knowledge in commercial and contract law.

6.    Good knowledge of ISO-9001 / ISO/TS-16949.

7.    Strong knowledge of SPC.

8.    Strong knowledge in one or more of the following:  Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean Deployment, and Value Added / Value Engineering.

9.    Good negotiation and presentation skills.

10. Good communication skill in English and Mandarin.
