Position Summary:

• The Inspection Team Lead operates from established and well-known procedures under general directions and minimum supervision. Decisions are made within prescribed operating and casualty procedures and guidelines. The Inspection Team Lead encounters recurring work situations of high complexity, with occasional variations from the norm.
  
  The Inspection Team Lead has the authority to control the operation of the value stream and when necessary, the facility, and must do so in a safe manner resulting in no accidents, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements at all times. The Inspection Team Lead must effectively communicate information to supervision and fellow personnel, relative to the condition of the facility equipment and personnel performance, and provide suggestions for problem prevention / resolution.
  
  The QC Team Leader is responsible for monitoring the operations of the designated quality work stream on a shift basis. The QC Team Leader oversees the activities of shift personnel to assure production schedules are met.

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:

• Supervise the activities of all personnel on assigned shift; serve as the responsible Inspection supervision on shift for designated value stream.
• Assure that personnel issues or conditions are properly dealt with during the shift, including but not limited to, safety and medical emergencies, personnel issues, regulatory agency interaction, and technical (process) issues. Update the appropriate Quality Management to take appropriate corrective action
• Coordinate the activities in production area(s) related to inspection to meet efficiency goals, quality and cost objectives, including but not limited to managing the deployment of personnel across all work areas and prioritizing schedules
• Manage the execution of special projects as assigned by Quality management
• Maintain employee timecards
• Execute employee performance evaluations as required
• Collect in-process and final quality data
• Assist in the analysis and trending of quality data
• Mentor & train new assembly inspectors
• Work collaboratively with operations
• Actively participate in investigations related to customer complaints, Problem Notifications (PN), Non-conforming Material (NCMs), Unplanned Deviations (UD), etc
• Actively participate in what could go wrong (WCGW) exercises as needed
• Ensure execution of inspection procedures including GDP
• May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned

Other Job Requirements:

• Ability to work in a fast paced controlled cleanroom environment up to 8 hours a day with additional overtime as required.

The Clean-room is controlled a greater than 30% humidity with a temperature between 15C and 25C.

The Clean-room has some ambient noise.

Specific gowning is required including: gloves, hair and beard net and face cover, safety glasses with no makeup / jewelry or piercings.

Position requires forceful gripping/grasping and repetitive motion including pushing and pulling.

Ability to use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and understand chemical hygiene including labels and SDS (Safety Data Sheets), common chemicals are disinfectant, solvents and IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol 70% and 99%).

• Must have the ability to inspect containers on a light table for entire shift.
• Must have the ability to stand and move about including reaching, bending, stooping, grasping.
• Must have the ability to use hand tools and equipment including forceful gripping, grasping, pushing, pulling and repetitive motion.
• Must have the ability to frequently lift and manipulate up to 40 pounds unassisted.

Educational Qualifications:

• College degree or above

Experience Qualifications:

• Leadership experience: management of team
• Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
• General knowledge of computer systems
• Experience working in cGMP environment
• General knowledge of ISO 13485
• Organization Skills
• Attention to detail
• Problem solving skills/Root Cause Analysis experience
• Working knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
• Ability to identify risks/hazards related to quality and safety
• Capable of working with area supervisors and managers and other operations resources to address employee and process issues.
• May interact with regulatory agencies (infrequently)
