Summary: 12 Months Contract Position
The Human Resources specialist is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success and providing human resource services to UIC and/or Hover-Davis company divisions. This will be achieved through the development of global recruiting plans, and employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas.
The HR Recruiter/Generalist will play a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent.
The incumbent will be responsible for interpreting and applying human resource practices and policies and may also participate in ISO 9000 certification and other divisional compliance activities.
This position reports to the chief HR position.
Principal Accountabilities and Job Specifications:
Developing and executing recruiting plans
Work with hiring managers on recruiting planning meetings.
Work with manager to create and modify job descriptions.
Work with manager to develop interviewing plan for each open position.
Efficiently and effectively fill open positions.
Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting.
Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need.
Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
Build networks to find qualified candidates.
Post openings in various advertisements, with professional organizations, and in other position appropriate venues.
Improve the recruiting process to decrease time, improve quality and reduce costs.
Use the Internet for recruitment.
--Post positions to appropriate Internet sources.
--Improve the company website recruiting page to assist in recruiting.
--Research new ways of using the Internet for recruitment.
--Use social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates.
Networking through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees
Locate and document where to find ideal candidates.
Communicate with managers and employees regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and source new candidate leads.
Develop contacts within the industry.
Attend local professional meetings and membership development meetings.
Maintain regular contact with possible future candidates.
Coordinate college recruiting initiatives.
Attend career fairs for recruiting and company recognition.
Develop college/university relationships, attend student group meetings, and increase college awareness of the company before and after career fairs.
Administrative Duties and Record Keeping
Manage the use of recruiters and headhunters.
Review applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements.
Conduct pre-screening interviews.
Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in the appropriate system(s).
Perform reference checks for potential employees.
Participate in interviewing and selecting employees.
Prepare offer packages.
Perform HR orientation.
Perform other special projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
Three years of human resources corporate recruiting experience preferred.
Good English skills in Speaking and writing;
Microsoft Office Suite knowledge/experience required.
SAP experience preferred.
