Technical Service Engineer– Flexible Laminations

Technology platform: Solvent-Based and Solvent-Free Polyurethane Adhesives, Cold Seal, plus others

ACTIVITIES（工作行为，主要指日常的，具有代表性的工作行为）

- Technical Support: Responsible for the evaluation of Bostik adhesives to fit customer requirements in the Flexible Packaging Converting business market. Major technologies include solvent-free and solvent-based polyurethane and polyester adhesives. Responsible for technical assistance to target customers.
- Technology Transfer and Updates: Develop technical contacts with global internal affiliates and strategic suppliers to maintain alignment with frontier technology and identify opportunities.
- Laboratory Support: Capable of working on the bench with solvent and/or isocyanates with proper safety equipment. Will be expected to perform application testing/evaluations to support customer trials and resolve customer issue.
- Internal Support: Support chemist to evaluate the performance of lab adhesives, and support to evaluate the performance of commercial products.
- Application Training: Provide technical training to internal sales team and external customers to improve their knowledge of our complete product range and improve their troubleshooting capabilities.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports as required.
- Business Development: Work with Marketing/Sales or customer base to test products for new applications and evaluate new market opportunities. Support Marketing/Sales initiatives through direct communication with customers to convey product capabilities and assist in resolving difficult issues
- Analytical Analysis: Collaborate with Analytical group to resolve customer issues with adhesive and/or end application production.
- System and Procedures: Comply 100% with EHS and Quality management system policies and requirements. Must maintain good laboratory housekeeping and safety.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT（工作内容及环境，包括是否需要国内/外出差、内部及外部主要联系人等）
- The position requires 50% domestic/international travel.
- The position is part of a fast growth business unit and needs to support customer technical support of new product line, new application and new markets.
ACCOUNTABILITIES（主要职责，指职位本身所需要承担的责任或义务）
- Technical support internally: Support chemists to evaluate the products for NPD, PM, TA projects.
- Technical support externally: Support sales/marketing to collect market information, run trials at customer sites, visit customers for technical discussions and training, do lab tests for new projects or troubleshooting.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED（能力/经验要求，此岗位具体的学历、经验及各项能力要求）
- Minimum of BS degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in Flexible Packaging Converting industry
- Polymer background/knowledge a plus
- Results-oriented, aggressive but a team player.
- Open-minded, creative and innovative.
- Outstanding interpersonal & communication skills.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
