1. PURPOSE

• The Tooling Engineer shall manage in co-operation with the concerned plant engineers, the specification and manufacture of New Stamping Tooling and associated processes.
• Ensure all new tools are designed and manufactured in order to allow production of parts in a cost effective manner.
• Tracking and co-ordination of Tooling manufacture within program timelines.
• Monitoring and maintaining standards for tool manufacture.
• Resolution of day to day tool related issues.

2. EMPLOYMENT PRE REQUISITES

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or relevant experience.

EXPERIENCE:

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience of Tool manufacturing within the Automotive Industry.

· Preference for Closures products.

· Preferred knowledge of Inteva systems and personnel.

· In depth knowledge of Stamping in fine blanking, progression and single stage dies.

· An in depth knowledge and preferably hands on of tool design required.

· An in depth knowledge of stamping tool manufacturing process required.

· Managed the launch and introduction to production of several previous programs.

· Working knowledge of TS16949.
