The Senior Project Engineer (Software)  is responsible for the development, verification, and maintenance of software to enable new Kitchen and Bath products.  

1.  Work with Marketing and other departments to develop system and software requirements for projects.  Document these requirements appropriately. 

2. Develop and document system software architectures.

3. Write software for use in device control systems, user interfaces, including cloud hosted ‘apps’.  

4. Verify and release software production.  

6. Use tools such as emulators, debuggers, oscilloscopes to debug and verify proper operation of system software.

7. Work in a team environment to develop software requirements, architecture, and structure.

8. Work on special projects as dictated by the needs of the department.  These projects will be technical in nature.

 

Supervisory Relationships:

• Reports to Supervisor or Manager – Electronics Engineering.

 

         Organization Relationships:

• Moderate Contact with Purchasing Department regarding the specification of components and approving vendor proposals.

• Frequent contact with other Engineers, Supervisors, and Draftsmen/CAD Operators.  

• Frequent contact with Marketing Department on user specifications. 4. Moderate contact with Service Department on engineering-related service problems.  

 

         External Business Relationships:

• Moderate contact with Manufacturer’s Representatives, Vendors, etc., for discussions regarding control product components.

   

 

Required:

1. B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer, or Computer Science Engineering.

2. Knowledge of one or more of the following C, C++, Assembler.

3. Good understanding of Hardware including schematics and circuit analysis.

4. Good organizational capability.  High attention to detail.

5. Ability to work on multiple tasks in a timely fashion with minimal supervision.

6. Development of software in a professional, team oriented environment. 

7. Understanding of good software design and documentation practices.

8. Understanding of electrical components and general electrical engineering design rules.

9. 4-6 years experience.
