About This Job:

Syngenta Beijing Innovation Center is seeking a highly responsible and self-motivated senior molecular biologist to join the Plant Analysis and Trialing Group. This person will be a key member to develop biotechnology platform and deliver critical trait projects. Particularly, he/she will be responsible for high quality molecular design and on time delivery of constructs in biotech pipeline. The accountabilities are as following:

1. Provide in-depth technical expertise on molecular cloning and analysis for improvements of biotech pipeline

2. Implement and develop innovative molecular technologies with FTO and new IP generation

3. Collaboratively work in cross-functional teams to ensure on time delivery of projects

4. Provide scientific leadership in project development and technical trouble shooting

5. Maintain accurate experimental records and perform all activities in compliance with Syngenta quality management and HSE guidelines

Qualifications:

1. PhD in molecular biology, plus 5+ years working experience in relevant field with a proven record of success in the form of patents and publications

2. Expert in construct design, such as expression optimization and molecular stacking

3. Proficient in use of various bioinformatics tools for genome analysis and data mining. Basic bioinformatics programming and NGS analysis skills are preferred.

4. Understanding of GM and genome editing product development and regulatory requirement is a plus

5. Proficient in oral and written English communication

6. Good team player, strong execution, and flexible in handling changes

Important Additional Information:

1. Early morning or late evening teleconference is required to ensure global communication

2. Role based in Changping district, Beijing, with occasional business travel
