Description:
a) Responding to, and resolving support requests for Services across the organisation
b) Work closely with end-users to define and resolve software and data issues
c) Work closely with application vendors to obtain technical solutions
d) Executing back-end administrative tasks
e) Work with the Service Lead to identify and prioritise issues
f) Advising the Service Lead of any significant considerations e.g. security risks
g) Monitor global applications to pre-empt problems
h) Develop and modify SQL queries for reporting and data transfer purposes
i) Identify and fix software bugs
j) Develop, document, and consistently apply policies, processes and standards
k) Create and maintain appropriate technical documentation
Request:
· Proven skills in Microsoft VB.Net, VB6, ASP, and HTML. C# or Java skills advantageous.
· Ability to write efficient SQL statements. Ability to develop and maintain stored procedures, views, and triggers in both Oracle and SQL Server would be advantageous
· Experience of carrying out administrative data tasks in SQL Server and Oracle
· Visual Objects skills would be advantageous
· Advantageous would be experience of working in a scientific environment or with scientific data, in particular within the petrochemical industry.
· Understanding of data and system security
· Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
· Strong team-based ethic with experience of cross-functional and virtual teams.
