Overall Purpose of Job:
The basic function of the Sales Assistant is to support the Sales Manager (Product Line Lead) in coordination of activities with various customer account managers. The Sales Assistant will assist in the maintenance of Product Line sales database, action item tracking, and preparation of battle plan and SAM and other documentation.
Major Responsibilities:
? Collect data prior to product line monthly review meetings.
? Responds to internal or customer initiated inquiries such as project progress, customer orders etc., by researching and providing requested information verbally and through written correspondence.
? Ensures that functional areas are meeting committed action items. Attends product line review meetings and helps develop and organize action items. Maintains Action Item List with tracking of issues commercial / customer related.
? Follow up on open action items as necessary.
? This position will assist Product Line Lead in collection of sales records, commercial contracts, pricing and other data for on-going evaluation of performance against the Sales plan.
? Position also, coordinates data requirements and progress of the Business Excellence initiative, is responsible to know the competitive market through the analysis of published marketing data.
Key Competencies:
? Computer literacy in Database, project planning, spreadsheet (Excel), and/or Word processing.
? Practical knowledge of product development is desirable.
? Must have the ability to interact well with others.
? Ability to schedule and work on several projects at one time.
? Ability to meet deadlines.
Education and Experience:
Educational: B.S. or B.A. degree preferred.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in automotive related business environment is desirable. A familiarity in dealing with engineering and/or manufacturing issues is desirable.
