Responsibilities
-Schedule and attend Commissioning/Running-in/IMO Tuning (incl. TC. Matching) and Overhaul inspections after Shoptest for all Wärtsilä 2-Stroke engines in Licensees.
-Schedule and participate in inspections according to ITP list and/or with request of Site Office Manager.
-Recognise and report quality deficiencies during planned and random inspections at Licensees and Sub-suppliers of Licensees.
-Regular workshop visits during all production stages.
-In case of necessity, participate in Builder’s Seatrials and aware about engine ancillaries installation inspection & correction in new building vessels.
-Support of Testing activities appointed by Wärtsilä.
-Site Office activity reporting concerning a.m. responsibilities to WCH.
-Support Licensee during commissioning/running – in and tuning of all Wärtsilä 2-Stroke engines. (incl. TC Matching.)
-Support Licensee with engine production and assembly. Recognise problems and work out solutions with Licensee. Interact with WCH License Support to find solutions, if needed.
-Maintain a good relationship with Licensee where quality and manufacturing issues are discussed in a true and open way.
-Follow up issued design messages by WCH together with local WCN-PM Group.
-Provide design improvement feedback to local PM engineers.
-Manage and follow-up on issues and problems, make sure all stakeholders are informed on time.
-Support Licensee in non-conformity report (NCR) handling.
-Create assembly reports, commissioning reports, overhaul inspection reports for each engine (if participated in relevant job) and collect ITP parts production records. Send complete set of engine report to WCH.
-Attend/witness parts inspections according ITP list in Licensee or Sub-Suppliers. Record and report results.
-Random quality checks of non ITP items in all production stages and report issues encountered
-Follow-up introduction of design modifications, in co-opreation with local PM Engineers.
-Exchange of experience and knowledge with other Site Offices.
-Report to Site Office Manager,


Requirements
-Masters good spoken English at a fluent negotiation level.
-Able to communicate in English in writing and speaking at a good technical level.
-Degree in Mechanical Engineering (equivalent to B.Sc.)
-Experience at engine automation & control systems is advantage.
-Marine engineering with sound experience in engine manufacturing or service or design
-Marine or Shipbuilding Engineering Experience with 2 stroke diesel engines of advantage.
-Automation or Mechatronic Engineering.
-Installation or operation practice
