Job Dimenstions:
Arkema manufactures various Technical Polymers compounds in China to support the growth in Asia-Pacific region. New compounds are developed in our R&D center especially based on various type of long chain polyamides. These neat resins are manufactured in our factories in China. The Process Engineer – Compounding position belongs to Technical Polymers R&D organization in Asia; the job holder is in charge of compounding activities in CRDC.
Main Activities:
(1) Compounding Workshop operation
In full compliance with Arkema’s safety standards, the job holder’s first mission is to manage daily operations of compounding workshop in R&D center. This task includes raw material management, compounding campaign planning and preparation (conditions) by discussing with product team and experts, equipment maintenance, continuous improvement. Objective is to run operations with good efficiency, reactivity, reliability, always keeping in mind the industrialization step.
(2) Industrialization scale-up support
The job holder is in charge of supporting the scale-up of new compound to the factory or to our subcontractors in China. This task includes preparation of deliverables and targets to communicate to the process team, discussion and support of process team until and after industrial trials, support factory for compounding-related trials or issues (homologation of new raw material, etc).
(3) Compounding know-how and expertise
The job holder is in charge of building up the know-how and expertise in compounding technology in R&D center, especially in the field of highly filled materials (glass fiber, carbon fiber). Strong and regular interactions are expected between the job holder and Arkema processing experts (France, Japan).
Requirements:
· Master degree at least in polymer compounding field
· Above 2+ years working experience in the field of Polymer compounding
· Fluent in English/Mandarin, knowledge of French is a plus
· Good communication, problem solving skills, proactive, willingness to grow/learn
