The Factory Supply Chain Manager position will showcase your focus on the customer, managing material supply pipeline, and your ability to manage the relationship with the suppliers. This position’s core focus is managing all aspects of supply chain by effectively collaborating with a variety of peer groups across the organization as well as externally, including, but not limited to, Business Stakeholders, the Tier 2 and Tier 1 Supply Base, Development, Supply Chain, Procurement, Compliance and Quality, to track material continuity of supply metrics and drive improvements to meet MS contractual material buffer stock requirements. The position requires a high degree of supply chain management techniques and understanding on Tier 1 MRP and ERP system.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Manage material supply pipeline and ensuring COS (Continuity of supply)
- Ensure alignment in material supply and build demand through close collaboration and communication with Supply Chain planning team, Procurement team, Tier 1 and when required, Tier 2 suppliers.
- Develop an overall plan to measure material continuity of supply, buffer stock requirements, excess materials and obsolete materials metrics (at both Tier 1 and 2 suppliers) and drive improvement upstream
- Develop all necessary process documents include but not limited to, material forecast to sub-tiers, material planning, buffer stock requirements, excess material mitigation, EOL materials management, …etc.
- Perform periodic supplier audit and risk assessment related to supply chain management
- Define and automate supplier data collection and reporting
- Review Tier 1 material reports and ensure data integrity
- Responsible for oversights of overall consigned materials managemnet including issue PO, continuity of supply, ERP data transaction maintanence, cycle counts & etc.
- Oversee strategic material supply situation and provide allocation recommendation among Tier 1’s if necessary
- Identify supply risk and drive for resolution
- Identify and deliver projects that enhances the existing supply chain and material management practices and processes
- Provide leadership to material planning team (including those from supply base) to achieve KPIs.
The successful candidate should have significant experience and/or expertise in many of the following areas:
- Material management knowledge for high volume and high mix manufacturing
- In depth knowledge on factory operations and manufacturing process
- Able to identify supply risk and work out mitigation plan independently
- Operational and supply chain acumen
- Ability to participate in the closure of complex supply chain problems
- Experience working with engineers and product development professionals
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese
In addition to effective management skills, the successful candidate will exhibit strength in the following MS competencies:
- Great communication skills both verbal and written
- Cross Group Collaboration
- Dealing with Ambiguity
- Problem Solving
In addition to the above criteria, engineering or technical degree in a related field, experience in working in the factory environment, a minimum of 6 years of demonstrated work experience in material management, ability to work independently required
