JOB SUMMARY:


Horizon Hobby is an international developer, marketer and distributor of radio control (RC) hobby products, model trains and a wide range of educational, toy and other hobby products. Horizon employs nearly 700 people and sells products in more than 50 countries around the world. Corporate headquarters, along with the main distribution facility and product service center, are located in Champaign, Illinois in the U.S.A. Additional distribution centers are located in Ontario, California; Harlow, England and Elmshorn, Germany.


The Business Manager will work in conjunction with the Quality Manager and Vendor Operations Manager to oversee the financial and operational objectives of Horizon's Quality and Vendor Operations team in Asia. This individual also works with our consultant partners to ensure proper compliance for legal, tax and human resource issues including variations due to local regulations for our team of employees based in different locations in Taiwan and mainland China.


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Plan, implement, manage, and control all financial-related activities of the group.

* Manage processes for financial forecasting, annual budget and financial reporting to management as well as to government agencies

* Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting

* Liaison between bank, legal, accounting and H/R firms

* Manage local hiring including placement of advertising for new positions and initial assessment of job candidates

* Manage Office infrastructure, (e.g. building, facilities repair and maintenance, phone system, office equipment installation and maintenance.).

* Supervise staff responsible for inspection visit scheduling and vendor payment transactions


JOB REQUIREMENTS:


* Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or business

* 3 - 5 years business/supervisory experience with a diverse background in Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, Operations and/or Administration

* Experienced in working for foreign companies.

* Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.

* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; strong presentation skills.

* Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility.

* High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

* Able to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations

* Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs, Project or other project management software.

* Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to locations in Taiwan, Guangdong, Shanghai or the U.S.A. to review local tax and HR issues or to support financial reviews.

* Must be fluent in speaking, reading and writing Mandarin Chinese and English.
