Primary Responsibilities:

Develop, implement and review environmental health management plans and occupational health and safety plans.
Develop, implement, & improve Occupational Health & Safety policy and management systems as per Macao regulations & Sands corporate policies.
Interface with all levels of the organization, to drive, coach, & track implementations of Occupational Health & Safety programs & initiatives.
Monitor EHS team to ensure new Occupational Health & Safety applicable laws, regulations, and other requirements in the industry and pass the knowledge to the organization.
Promote safety culture among the organization; develop & deliver periodic Occupational Health & Safety training & orientation program.
Coordinate audit, inspection, & monitoring program to identify & follow up Occupational Health & Safety improvement opportunities.
Coordinate work injury investigation & follow-up. Conduct trend analysis & develop incident prevention & reduction programs.
Organize & host monthly safety committee meetings for safety performance review, topic discussion, & resource support.
Develop, implement, & manage annual Occupational Health & Safety budget plan for capital projects & monthly expense spending.
Liaise with local Occupational Safety Council & communicate with local community for compliance improvement.
Prepare and implement plans and strategies for the safe, economic and suitable disposal of commercial, industrial, medical and household wastes.
Advise on and enforce legislation, implement prevention programs and strategies for communicable diseases, food safety, waste water treatment and disposal systems, recreation and domestic water quality, contaminated and hazardous substances to improve health outcomes.
Identify hazards, and assessing and controlling risks in the workplace.
Develop, implement and monitor programs minimizing workplace and environmental pollution involving chemical and physical hazards.
Promote ergonomic principles within the workplace such as matching furniture, equipment and work activities to the needs of employees.
Inspect and audit workplaces, processes, plant, and chemical and physical hazards for legislative compliance.
Train employees in personal protective equipment and safe working procedures.
Record and investigate injuries and equipment damage, and reporting safety performance.
Coordinate the return of injured workers into the workplace.
