Responsibilities:

Perform short-term and long-term production planning to optimize equipment and people utilization while meeting customer schedule requirements. Participate in process optimization and lean manufacturing initiatives. Conduct studies to determine better equipment utilization and analyze future capital requirements. Ensure co-operation across departments to attain the company objectives. The job scope includes USD $+/- $12 million in production revenue and 140 production associates. Participates in developing work practices and in documentation of production aspects of the Company Operating System. Will participate in implementation of automated MRP system.

Detailed Responsibilities:
Planning
1. Production-planning supervision, scheduling for production, preparing production schedules for manufacturing, packaging and shipping of products
2. Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, workflow, tools, and human resource requirements.
3. Draws up and issues master schedule of establish workflow, sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
4. Follow up raw material, package material and relate product material purchase schedule to ensure production smoothly.

Production Control
1. Confers with production management to determine the status of assigned projects
2. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
3. Making sure each operation meets shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.

Reporting and Problem Solving
1. Prepares production reports.
2. May prepare purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment
3. Monitors, analyzes & reports performance to schedule of production & production support activities, utilizing information derived from material and production control systems.
4. Ensures all parties are fully cognizant of production status, & that work planning and execution objectives are achieved
5. May schedule, expedite, & coordinate the delivery & movement of critical material, including material transfers & conditional material releases.
6. Coordinates the resolution of discrepancy reports, vendor service requests, etc.
Requirements:
Ideal candidate is an experienced production planner with strong skills in planning production in thermoforming and plastic molding or closely related operations in China, ideally in industries serving food service end-users. Primary skill sets should include lean manufacturing, production planning and problem resolution.

Knowledge

1. College or bachelor above in Business Administration, Production Operations Management, or related discipline.
2. Fully bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese, plus Cantonese
3. APICS/Part APICS certification would be a distinct advantage.
4. 5 to10 years production planning experience, preferably in a western invested manufacturing company
5. Injection and thermoforming experience will be a plus.

Skills

1. Experience with computerized production scheduling systems (MRP) is required with implementation experience highly desireable.
2. Minimum of 4-5 years within an MRP environment
3. Experienced in process improvement
4. Skills in lean manufacturing principles and process optimization

1. High level of PC expertise – Excel/Word/PowerPoint plus MRP systems
