MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Microsoft Hardware has over twenty years of success as a worldwide leader in the computer input device industry. We are searching for a Mechanical Engineer that will be a key contributor to product success from marketing through production. This position will be based in Shenzhen, and work on PC accessories and Surface accessories.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will have the chance to shape product, business, and technology strategy in a startup environment by identifying new technologies, applying your design and manufacture experience, and leveraging supplier resources worldwide.

Responsibilities:
- Lead Mechanical Engineering efforts for new product development for multiple programs simultaneously.
- Product specification definition, test equipment / fixture design review.
- Work with supplier to do mechanical design on system-level and sub-system of Microsoft Hardware product, overall accountable for mechanical design.
- Mechanical support for production qualification and ongoing process enhancements through part and process consolidation, technology integration, and component price negotiations.
- Leadership to cross-disciplinary teams, like ID, tooling, EE and manufacture etc.
- Generate cost savings through mechanical design optimization.

Qualifications:
- B.S. Mechanical engineering, M.S. in related engineering discipline preferred
- 5+ years of product design experience in electronics consumer products.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills both in Chinese and English.
- Good teamwork, and documentation skills
- Experience in both tolerance analysis and CAD design
- Demonstrated the ability to deliver a mechanical solution according to the product requirement.
- Experience in the design of complex assemblies of electronics product or subsystem that successfully reached volume production.
- Knowledge of data analysis and statistical capabilities required.
- Requires ability to troubleshoot to root cause and solve complex problems.
- Extensive understanding of material properties preferred Experience working with overseas partners
- Domestic and international travel required.
