JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Come and be a key technical contributor on the fast paced, high energy team responsible for developing Manufacturing Test System Solutions for E&D Consumer Products such as Xbox, Zune, Kinect and Accessory. This is a program manager position in a high profile business for Microsoft. The Manufacturing Test Program Manager will drive the development, qualification, deployment, and continuous improvement activities and sustaining for manufacturing test system for high volume consumer products. This position will drive defining and specifying our test engineering programs, create high quality specifications, and deliver those programs with our development and test teams. You will work with internal and external partners to develop technology in custom test equipment in hardware, software and our test control system SQL database.
As a candidate for this job, you will ideally have a very strong background in development and sustaining program management, will have excellent technical and analytical skills, will have very strong written and verbal communication skills, will have produced excellent functional specifications before, and you will have a proven track record of delivering complex hardware and software projects. Technical strengths must include knowledge of hardware/software development, qualification and test, and be able to identify and put in place all resources required to execute a successful test program.
Knowledge of high volume consumer products manufacturing, large production databases, product lifecycles, and new product process is strongly desired. Program Management strengths must include the ability to direct the work of cross-company teams of our development partners to meet overall program objectives. This will be an ideal opportunity to show your strong leadership skills at the organizational level, as you work closely with the business owners, forming and driving the vision.

Additional JOB FUNCTIONS:
- PM and coordinate Mfg Test Engineers, ICT Engineer, software development engineer and TCS engineer in carry out daily routine task.
- Lead a group of PM and carry out MTE dev and sustaining projects.
- Responsible for Manufacturing Test Engineering leadership in support and sustaining of production test systems and test processes in a very high volume contract manufacturing environment.
- Daily monitoring of test data trends, test yield, false failure in order to improve overall manufacturing and product quality and processes.
- Responsible in real time audits of test systems and test processes at all Tier 1 sites to ensure test and quality adherence and compliance as prescribed in the statement of work and Engineering Change Orders and Test Procedures.
- Provide onsite test support to all Tier 1 suppliers for all future EV, DV, and PV builds.
- Provide program management support to test suite build and bug triage, test control system, ARM, and ICT deployment.
- Manage all Tier 1 test systems maintenance, including spare parts procurement, GR&R and test systems and tool qualification procedures.
- Manage MTE worldwide equipment, tester replication and upgrade.
- Assist in resolving test quality and systems related issues to avoid production downtimes and impact to product quality, may provide guidance to Tier 1 Test Engineering personnel.
- Create/verify/audit test systems bill of materials, manufacturing test procedures and standard of operations manual for overall manufacturing test eco system.
- Assist new Tier 1 suppliers in preparation and readiness for manufacturing qualification.
- Manage all tier 1 test process improvements and cost reduction projects related to manufacturing testing.
- Be the front line interface with CM for sustaining test technical issues.
- Drive for test continuous improvement in term of efficiency, downtime, yield, false failure and cost.
- Lead and organize team to develop strategy to resolve a wide range of difficult and complex problems, increase test productivity and UPH.
- Prepares weekly status report to Manufacturing Test Management.
- Work closely with the local factory manager and Tier 1 Test Eng/Program Managers to improve quality and manufacturing efficiencies.
Qualifications include:
- At least 10 years of working experience, 8+ years of related program management experience focusing on hardware/software development, cross functional business processes, and product life cycle management. Working experience in manufacturing and supply chain area is mandatory. Knowledge in engineering is preferred.
- Experience required with MS Project Schedule, a bug tracking system such as Product Studio, and all MS Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience desired with statistical analysis programs such as JMP or minitab.
- Strong written/oral communication skills, problem resolution, good judgment, presentation, and decision-making skills required. Must be self motivated and results driven.
- The candidate need to familiar with ICT test (Agilent 3070), PCBA board functional test methods, systems level testing, reliability testing and in very high volume production environment and contract manufacturing.
- Understanding of physical and electrical failure analysis flows.
- Knowledge in manufacturing processes and quality data systems and data collection.
- PMP certification is a plus. Domestic and international travel might be required.
Education :
B.A./B.S in Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management, or related fields (or the equivalent in work experience). MBA preferred. Position is in Microsoft Asia Center for Hardware (MACH) in Guangdong, Shenzhen; and will be supporting the manufacturing facilities located in the Guangdong Province.
