. Responsible for Zhongshan plant sourcing activity management. Setting sourcing strategy & execution.
. Supplier management, qualification, performance check (cost, quality, delivery, service level, NPD)
. Productivity improvement, price validation, commodity price check.
. Quote, benchmarking, negotiations, VAVE program drive,
. Communication with Plant functional leadership team,
. Build strong value added relationships with suppliers and cross functional departments as well as perform make/buy analysis working closely with engineering and product management.
. Develop and implement strategy for the effective global sourcing of components and finished goods in support of strategic business units and utilize advanced financial tools to insure adherence to objectives for gross margin attainment.
. Work closely with quality, supply chain and other teams to maximize sourcing accomplishments surrounding cost, quality and service. Participate as a core member of new product development teams for programs thatinclude sourced product.
. Develop commodity management strategy consistent with the leveraging of corporate-wide spend for applicable commodities or spend categories. Accomplish within a center-led sourcing strategy with decentralized execution.
. Develop global sourcing strategies based on product development cycles, market forecasts, and business productivity objective Develops strategies while playing close attention to global economic conditions.
. Continually review current supply base and evaluate new sources of supply on a world-wide basis. Develops optimal cost positions by aligning commodities with targeted and geographically dispersed suppliers.
. Qualify new suppliers and negotiates commodity contracts to satisfy internal customer requirements concurrently achieving long-term supply objectives. Develop supply chain agreements that promote year over productivity achievement, continuous. Improvement objectives and product and channel exclusivity.
. Works with Newell Rubbermaid world-wide sourcing assets to identify and qualify low cost country supply sources in accordance to established criteria of quality and service expectations.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor degree in business, technical or related field. Masters degree desired

- At least 5 years of progressive experience in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management with proven track record in technical global sourcing

- Knowledge of leading edge sourcing methodologies, global markets and pricing/cost analysis

- Ability to accurately predict/anticipate marketplace events and develop action plans that minimize overall risk to the Organization.

- Proactive and results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels within an integrated supply chain organization.

- Excellent technical background and experience qualifying supplier capabilities. Individuals are expected to work with suppliers to enhance existing quality infrastructure and implement processes that will lead to progressive improvement in DPPM and related metrics.

- Ability to conceptualize problems and opportunities, and to implement innovative solutions utilizing business tools including lean manufacturing, value analysis/value engineering and value stream mapping.

- Excellent written & verbal communication skills in English and Chinese
