Job Description - SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test)
This position will be based in MACH (Shenzhen). You will support the systems needs of internal clients in Operations, Sales & Marketing (S&M) for IEB (Interactive Entertainment Business).
Being part of the team, there are numerous opportunities to provide leadership, architect test innovations, drive process improvements, and evangelize technical solutions across the team. You will be responsible for driving the quality upstream by working closely with peers in Program Management and Dev team to engineer a high quality platform.
The ideal candidate would have a proven track record in shipping quality software products, as well as the ability to deal with complex and ambiguous problems in a timely manner. The candidate should be able to work collaboratively with PM and Dev teams (as well as other teams within Microsoft). A strong passion for customers and partners is an absolute must. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are also required.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the program management and development teams to drive quality through design and implementation
- Participate in spec reviews, code reviews, design, triage, scheduling, and other product development process
- Implementing automated test cases and test tools
- Drive key quality metrics including performance, scalability, operability, etc.
- Perform debugging and troubleshooting in variety of local and remote testing environments as well as in the live site.
- Drive and conduct integration testing via email and conf call with partners located in world wide.
- Help improve the team’s test tools and test infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or above in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Strong passion for and commitment to software quality
- 5+ year experience in software development / test role and proven track record throughout at least one complete product cycle.
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrated work experience as a developer or tester in BI related projects.
- Strong SQL skills required and a demonstrated past experience in the past roles.
- SQL Server SSIS, SSAS and SSRS skill are required.
- Hands-on knowledge of debugging and scripting are required
- Knowledge and experience of test processes such as test automation, code coverage, test plan and test case development.
- A proven track record of shipping high quality, scalable software
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, a “lead by example” attitude.
- A deep understanding of software development process (SDLC), demonstrated proficiency in designing test cases and contributing to effective test planning, demonstrated ability to work effectively both within a team and cross-group to drive identification and resolution of issues to ship under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work under continual deadline constraints
Strong communication skill in both written and spoken English.
