Job Summary: Blend of Sales and Engineering responsibilities. Sales responsibilities include calling on existing customers to discuss projects/opportunities and championing project completion, developing relationships with all customers, and calling on potential customers to develop long term, mutually beneficial business relationships. Engineering responsibilities include researching, planning, and designing mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. Must perform, direct and/or coordinate activities involved in fabrication, regulatory testing, operation, application, installation and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.

  

  

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Job Requirements:

  

• Travel 50% of the time

• Typical month:

• Week 1 stay and work at factory

• Week 2 work from home/ travel to customers

• Week 3 stay and work at factory

• Week 4 work from home/ travel to customers

• Must be able to effectively interface with customers developing long-term, trust based business relationships.

• Utilization and proficiency of CAD software for design purposes meeting customer needs and requirements

• Interacts with new and existing customers to co-develop product/systems solutions to customer needs.

• Review design intent and determine viability of projects and propose cost effective product solutions.

• Working toward sales goals, sensitive to margins

• Coordinates and manages new product introductions, from concept to production.

• Must be able to interface with vendors, and manufacturing personnel in a dynamic environment.

• Support corporate objectives related to patents, trademarks and marketing needs.

• Continuous Improvement projects/cost reduction

• Other duties as assigned

                                  

  

Skills/Experience Required:

  

• Mechanical and electrical product design.
• Product development and refinement.
• Project management.
• Customer interaction and communication skills.
• Product manufacturing experience
• Strong internal and external personal interaction skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities at the same time
• Strong work ethic and personal accountability
• Fluent in Mandarin, English and Cantonese (Written/Spoken)
• Understand western culture and working environment
• Familiar with office furniture industry or interior design is a plus

  

  

Education Requirements:

  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technologies
• 3 years’ experience in Engineering or Product Development
