Financial Controller

Position Description

Reports To: Finance Director
Direct reports: Finance manager or accountant (to be determined)

Major Responsibilities:

? Prepare monthly financial packages timely and accurately, insuring the most relevant data is provided in an easy to read format.
? Manage the accounting personnel.
? Reviewing and analyzing financials monthly to ensure that negative trends are caught early and communication is provided to relevant team members.
? Ensure compliance with the worldwide accounting manual.
? Takes responsibility for the statutory tax filing, reporting and provisions in the Asia region.
? Manage the internal transfer pricing model within China
? Ensure governmental compliance of Kemin China
? Initiate analysis of the manufacturing operations, sales and marketing performances and other business activities to provide the leadership team with meaningful information for decision making purposes.
? Initiate projects to develop and refine business processes and reports to cater to changing business needs.
? Ensure compliance with all internal control requirements, test quarterly and perform annual peer review.
? Supervise requirements for all internal and external audits.
? Prepare financial forecasts at least monthly and as required.
? Manage the annual budget process.
? Monitor and report on cash flow and sales.
? Provide analysis for potential issues/trends occurring.
? Provide state-of-art financial services function using advanced techniques and technologies.
? Develop financial models to evaluate potential capital investments.
? Provide strategic direction for growth of the company including participating in the evaluation of financing methods to fund the growth.
? Coordinate and prioritize finance projects and assume responsibility for their success.
? Develop strong cooperative relationships with key customers, vendors and auditors to strengthen the credibility of KAC.

? Motivate and develop staff within the Finance Department, and provide incentive through the active use of the Kemin Industries career development structure.
? And any other ad hoc duties as assigned.


Qualifications & Experience
? An accounting degree, C.P.A. preferred or MBA.
? At least 10 years of experience in the accounting and finance arena, including at least 2 years in public accounting and 5 years in manufacturing.
? A high energy business strategist with a commercialization focus, who is able to provide leadership, set priorities, delegate responsibilities, and meets timetables leading to the attainment of goals.
? An in-depth understanding of accounting, finance and information services.
? An ability to see the big-picture and how finance can impact the overall growth of the business.
? Experience as an effective manager, project team player, leader and motivator; and the ability to present ideas effectively and communicate well with all levels of management within a team environment on a variety of programs and projects.
? Demonstrated project management skills, including forecasting skills, project planning and the development of project timelines.
? The demonstrated ability to manage people in both formal line management and fluid matrix environments and across formal and informal business lines both domestically and internationally.
? Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
? An understanding of- and experience with- process improvement to affect increased efficiencies in all aspects of the global agricultural business for both finance and company infrastructures.
? Experience in dealing with challenging problems, developing strategies, prioritizing and implementing appropriate programs.
? A high degree of personal motivation, a desire to make an immediate contribution and a distinct sense of urgency.
? Highly mobile individual who is open to international opportuniities whenever it arises.
