ROLE:
The Central Stores Supervisor position is primarily responsible for the management of employees/contracted workers/contracted workers and operations of the Central at LZA's ZH plant. This includes the management of inventories of the Central Stores at ZH plant. Additionally the Central Storage Supervisor insures all employees/contracted workers/contracted workers under his supervision conduct their work in a safe manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Assures acceptable Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) performance for all Stores activities. This includes but is not limited to that all employees/contracted workers understand their responsibilities with regard to HSE. Stores personnel must operate in a safe manner to assure we do not have a negative effect on the plants' HSE records. The Central Storage Supervisor needs to provide the appropriate level of safety leadership to all employees/contracted workers/contracted workers under his supervision.
2. Attends the weekly Dept. Staff meetings and communicates significant information to his employees/contracted workers/contracted workers. From time-to-time, working with the dept. staff, reviews dept. procedures to insure that all relevant policies and practices pertaining to storage operations are documented appropriately in the ISO Standards and that these ISO Standards faithfully describe current work procedures. The Central Storage supervisor also assists the buying staff by constantly being alert for any commercial opportunities to reduce costs and/or add value for purchases of Stores items, etc. The Central Storage supervisor provides training and skill development for the employees/contracted workers reporting to him/her. The Central Storage Supervisor conducts employee/contracted worker performance review sessions as required.
3. The Central Storage Supervisor adheres to, promotes, and administers as appropriate, Lubrizol's Quality Management principles, policies, and program.
4. The Central Storage Supervisor supervises personnel so that all responsibilities are carried out to accomplish immediate and future department objectives. He recommends or makes changes to work procedures among his staff. He assigns work as required to accomplish objectives. As necessary, he cross- trains personnel in all activities of the Central Storage. He determines work schedules to insure the efficient use of his staff. He ensures that any mechanical equipment is used properly by his employees/contracted workers/contracted workers. He is responsible for maintaining good housekeeping in all areas under his supervision.
5. The Central Storage Supervisor maintains a healthy work environment throughout the central storage area. Assures that employees/contracted workers/contracted workers have an open forum to participate in improving our business processes and procedures. Assure employees/contracted workers understand the individual value that their function brings to the overall success of the group. Remain open for opportunities for improvement and assure fair treatment is realized throughout the group. Assure that employees/contracted workers understand the career development opportunities available to them.
6. The Central Storage Supervisor ensures that the Central Stores reported inventory level in SAP accurately matches the physical inventory in stock. He also periodically reviews inventory turnover reports, identifies and removes non-essential or slow moving inventory from stock after coordinating with the Purchasing buyers and plant maintenance, safety,. and production personnel as appropriate. The Central Storage Supervisor insures that all inventory at both plants is as secure as possible to preclude leakage and theft. For customers with a CRT, he assists them in posting a pick list in SAP and helps customers locate stock items if necessary. .
7. Other duties as assigned.
Education / Certification
A Bachelor of Science degree in any of the Engineering disciplines is required.
Forklift Truck driving license holder.
Experience and Skills
Five or more years of related experience are required. Ability in SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is necessary.
Supervisory Responsibility
The Central Storage Supervisor has at least two direct reports (LZ employee or contracted workers).
Empowerment & Decision Making
The Central Stores Foreman has the responsibility to make personnel decisions impacting the group.
Language Skill
Fluent in both written and spoken English and Mandarin, CET-6 preferred
