Senior Program Manager
Digital Optics Corporation is bringing the next generation of breakthrough technologies to digital still cameras and other camera-enabled devices including cell phones, security systems and personal computers. Our advancements in imaging and optics technologies are enabling dramatic improvements in image quality, power consumption and speed of focus across a wide range of applications. We're expanding our Program Management Office and looking for an experienced program manager to help us manage our exciting growth ramp. The Senior Program Manager will lead new product introductions from business case analysis through product and process development into high volume manufacturing. He/she will utilize technical and NPI experience, an acquired understanding of camera module systems, leadership skills, and program management disciplines to achieve accurate planning, high quality execution and on-time achievement of program goals. Leadership qualities must include the ability to facilitate team interactions and meetings, drive team members to make critical judgments and decisions, and communicate effectively to executive management as well as the program management team. Expected behavioral qualities include a positive outlook and affinity for teamwork, fact-based decision making, innovation, initiative and self-sufficiency. This role will be based at the Digital Optics Factory in Doumen, China and will require periodic travel to company facilities in Taiwan.
Job Description:
1. Program Execution: Drive cross-functional execution of the NPI programs from business requirements through factory ramp to ensure total program success.
2. Core Team Leadership: Lead talented, cross disciplinary, program level core teams by facilitating vigorous, collaborative dialogue to achieve team consensus of the program risk profile and an insightful strategy to assure success. Ensure the team process effectively balances objectives to delight the customer while simultaneously developing a robust product design and a highly manufacture-able process.
3. Planning and Tracking: Drive cross functional teams to create a structured program strategy. Integrate functional project plans into a single coordinated timeline for the program. Identify critical paths and risk elements at the program level. Track program issues and effectively negotiate decisions and trade-offs. Guide issues to resolution within internal and external groups.
4. Risk Management and Problem Solving: Anticipate, identify, document and monitor program risks. Collaborate with engineering managers to manage risk elements and develop appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.
5. Prioritization: Balance process compliance and achievement of business objectives to make the right strategic trade-off for the program.
6. Communication and Coordination: Document and communicate status, action items, issues and risks in a timely manner to stake holders and senior management. Make presentations and escalate critical issues to executive management when necessary.
7. Product Life Cycle: Champion the product life cycle and ensure the objectives of each phase are successfully achieved.
8. Internal Business Processes: Champion process re-engineering initiatives to improve the operational effectiveness of engineering and business processes.
Requirements:
1. BS/MS in EE, physics or similar technical field. MBA or PMI certification is a plus.
2. Must have 5+ years of NPI program management experience into high volume manufacturing.
3. Must have 3+ years of experience leading cross functional core teams.
In addition to the above, successful candidate will fulfill the following requirements:
4. Demonstrated ability to be effective in a dynamic and energetic matrix organization with continuously changing customer requirements and short deadlines.
5. A self-directed individual with an ability to manage multiple priorities and objectives.
6. Demonstrated ability to drive issues to a fact based and timely closure using technical and analytical skills .
7. Demonstrated ability to write concise, well summarized reports to executive management.
8. Demonstrated ability to adopt existing processes and information systems used in the organization.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Fluency in Chinese is a strong plus.
10. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Project, WBS and project risk analysis.
11. Experience in the camera module industry is a strong plus.
