JOB SUMMARY

Coordinates, analyzes and communicates information and takes leadership action as a result of input from customers, sales, or management in order to meet customer needs or organizational objectives. Travels to customers to provide on-site leadership for wireless sensor system deployments. Researches, evaluates, and identifies current and emerging wireless sensor technologies to satisfy customer needs in served or new industries. Provides technical and applications support to marketing and sales for developing new business opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

1) Leads the evaluation and assessment of customer sites for wireless sensor network deployments: wireless network layout, physical and electrical installation, configuration, and commissioning. Clearly communicates deployment plan to supporting functions (product development, marketing, operations, etc.)

2) Provides on-site customer service and support for all wireless sensor deployments as needed. Performs emergency troubleshooting of sensor products and wireless sensor networks. Responds to unique or urgent customer service needs.

3) Coordinates with management about requirements for material and supplies to ensure timely delivery to the job site.

4) Provides instructions to customer personnel regarding proper installation, operation, and routine inspection, and assists with training and system acceptance.

5) Works with Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and Procurement to develop the most effective customer solution.

6) Develops product concepts and preliminary concept designs for feasibility evaluation.

7) Evaluates current and emerging sensor technologies from a wireless sensor applications perspective to understand competitive advantages and limitations. Identifies applicable sensor technologies, firmware, and other deployment tools to satisfy / improve customer experience.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Participates in developing customer presentation materials, visits, and strategic account relationships.

2) Promotes an image of professionalism and knowledge to Emerson stakeholders.

3) Performs other duties as assigned.

4) The employee performing this job has the responsibility to understand and follow all company rules and safe work practices.

5) Immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents to their supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

1) B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline, with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an industrial / commercial, or related process management industry.

2) Understanding of, or experience with, industrial electrical systems, switchgear and equipment (i.e. motors, pumps, compressors) and / or process-related applications for wireless sensor networks.

3) Understanding of, or experience with, wireless sensors, meters, and instrumentation as it relates to data integration into facility – level monitoring and control systems.

4) Experience creating and / or interpreting building – level electrical schematics.

5) Wireless configuration and deployment knowledge as it relates to integration into distributed control systems, HMI and SCADA systems, etc.
