Key Responsibilities:
* Supports USA driven product development activities for executing new Advanced Concepts and Create New Business on site, daily within China, Actively coordinates project activities and technical investigations on assigned projects bringing proper focus and visibility to maximize results. Works closely with the factory counterparts to share information, responsibility and facilitate decision-making, Contributes ideas and helps solve problems.
 
* Receive and understand project concepts and requests and translate them into appropriate actions.

* Carries out investigation and research for development contributions for assigned new projects.

* Perform project management on a wide range of follow-up activities, some independently and others through the factory. This includes: material coordination, mold drawing process, costing, component making and processing, monitoring mold allocation, prototyping, development trials/testing, sales sample making and transitions to commercialization and production.

 * Handle all project communications to maintain forward progress, set priorities and timelines, and elevate issues. Insure that others within China supporting the projects know what’s expected of them.

* Perform hands-on fundamental development support activities - sample specifications, Forward Engineering II documentation, initiate testing and quality monitoring of ongoing project content.

* Works closely with Commercialization team. Should be able to successfully transfer projects and knowledge to Commercialization team and then support them during pre-production.

* Collaborate with factory staff to maintain good teamwork and enlist their support.

* Perform other duties required by supervisor.

We are looking for candidates with the following experience and skills:
* College diploma or bachelor degree.
* Possess 5 years minimum footwear technical & development skills. Has experience in some of these specific areas. Examples include: materials, lasts, patterns, sport/casual/boot constructions, molding processes, blueprint drawing/reading, testing approach for materials & fit, product specs, project coordination and initial cost valuation. Good written and spoken English skills.
* Strong computer utilization skills – email, internet browser, suite of MS Office applications, documents.
* Has a passion for new products and approaches. Understands new ideas and concepts when explained. Possess excellent problem solving skills and the ability to take different approaches to solve a problem. Is organized, a good planner, documents project activities well, good follow-up skills, good attention to detail and gets things done on time.
* Must be able to work daily in ZhongShan at the factory and be willing to travel locally occasionally.
