Position Summary

The position requires a dynamic, marketing oriented government affairs professional, with an understanding of theChinabiotechnology, pharmaceutical or medical devices industries, who will contribute to the growth and development of the department.

Duties and responsibilities

Develop and implement Government affairs initiatives that contribute to the achievement of the company’s goals and strategies inChina. Help develop medium to long-term strategies to ensure that no major gaps exist in the company’s access strategies and tactics for new emerging therapies. Position supports and implements government affairs and public policies efforts with governments, professional societies and within Genzyme.

Additionally, the incumbent:

? Develop and execute tactical plans to maximize reimbursement for all GenzymeChinapromoted products inChina.

? Ensures that market access plans incorporate the latest and most up to date information and are aligned with therapeutic/biosurgery area strategy and initiatives.

? Contributes to expanding GenzymeChina’s government and public policy development, including plans and processes are implemented to meet future needs.

? Execute short and long-range departmental goals and objectives.

? Manages numerous projects simultaneously and is able to coordinate and manage both internal and external resources.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

? Work closely with GA key stakeholders/account both at provincial and central level and formularies reimbursement. Ensure optimum reimbursement at provincial payer levels across China.

? Work with professional and policy makers to develop and influence government policy and industry positions.

? Work with internal Department such as Public Relations, Medical Affairs, and other key departments to develop programs that will continue to build the business.

? Develop new customer / influence network, as required, to support market access and managed care initiatives with government programs.

? Develop and maintain appropriate intelligence gathering on health care reform trends, and communicate these to the company.

? Develop and implement GA strategic plans, including developing value arguments, pricing strategies, and coordinating health economic modeling/analyses.

? Develop and manage projects across China.

Required Qualifications

? Excellent communication skills including verbal and presentational skills in both Chinese and English.

? Excellent project management skills and track record involving multi-disciplinary teams.

? Excellent interpersonal and organization skills.

? Extensive working experience in healthcare related organizations both in public or private sectors with good understanding of government, NGO & MNC’s operations and culture.

? Minimum Bachelor degree in health field.

? At least 3-5 years working experience in GA field.
