Role Objective
? To lead sourcing and associated commercial activities for a range of companies within the group to ensure that products are continually purchased at good prices, on favourable terms, and fully in line with the requirements of each business

Responsibilities
? Find new suppliers in accordance with the needs of the business (product specifications, quality, order sizes etc.) and negotiate commercial terms for product supply
? Negotiate prices with existing suppliers at times of price increases or decreases, including continually challenging prices to always reduce them to their lowest possible level without compromising quality
? Carry out discussions and negotiations with suppliers concerning logistics and supply chain aspects of supply making sure that they are in line with the needs of the business
? Negotiate compensation and replacements of products at times when quality or other problems arise
? Where required by the business, place and subsequently manage purchase orders with suppliers to ensure that products are completely dispatched on time
? When required, negotiate changes to delivery dates and volume requirements to make sure that the needs of the business are always met
? Organise ancillary aspects of commercial relationships with suppliers such as organizing samples, confirming specifications obtaining price quotations, office administration etc.
? Attend exhibitions, fairs and other events in order to gain knowledge on the market for the products purchased by Arran Isle businesses

Experience
? Educated to degree level or higher technical standard in commercial discipline
? At least three years experience in sourcing comparable product types for international companies
? Experience in negotiating prices and other commercial terms, including managing price changes on commodity related price arrangements
? Should have travelled across a number of regions and be experienced in working on their own initiative
? Good understanding of freight and supply chain aspects of purchasing

Personal Qualities
? Very good spoken and written English skills
? Proactive, self motivated and capable of working on own initiative
? Confident to communicate at all levels within Mila and at the supplier
? Confident to work in multi-discipline team environment
