The Business Group consists of the Business Units Enzymes Solutions, Cultures, Food & Crop Protection, Savoury Ingredients and Hydrocolloids, a Research and Development organization and a number of staff department and excellence centers.

Site QA/QC Manager
DSM (JiangSu) Biotech Co., Ltd
Location: Yixing, Jiangsu

The Challenge
The position covers responsibilities related to the site plant activities. You will be part of a global team of 20 people, all dedicated to efficiently securing BU Enzyme Solutions customer satisfaction and compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. You will be the line manager of two direct reports.
Your main responsibility is to ensure that the site maintains appropriate levels of quality compliance (cGMP, FSSC 22000, HACCP) and passes internal and external audits/ inspections and support and pro-actively stimulate high quality performance of the organization and contribute to develop and implement the compliance strategy and plan, in cooperation with the site management team members. The Site QA manager is member of the Site Management team.
As Site QA/QC Manager, you will be expected to:
? Define the quality & food safety plan, including an internal and external quality audit plan, seek approval for it and implement and manage the execution of this plan.
? Manage Quality Control Department including method transfers and analysis.
? Monitor the execution of the quality & food safety plan and take corrective actions, in order to achieve the results.
? Periodically review the quality & food safety systems and verify whether these are actual.
? Define in consultation with the BU QA Manager and implement performance indicators and ensure periodical reporting of actual performance against these indicators.
? Ensure to have the appropriate systems (e.g. Quality & Food Safety Management System, cGMP) in place and maintained, in line with all applicable laws, regulations and standards.
? Plan, execute and follow up on internal and external quality audits, in order to ensure that activities are carried out according to approved policies and procedures.
? Ensure that the organization learns from deviations and that deficiencies found during internal and external audits are translated into corrective actions, monitor the execution of the corrective actions and escalate to the appropriate management level, if and where required.
? Define conditions under which a derogation to established specifications, standards and procedures may be implemented and be responsible for its approval
? Ensure the proper management of deviations and the effective and timely implementation of Corrective & Preventive Actions
? Secure that the “Management of Change Manufacturing” process properly identifies and mitigates any quality-related risk triggered by the change
? Establish inspection plans conditioning the release a product to market (or not) and raw material for manufacturing purposes.
? Be responsible for final product release at the market.
? Approve quality related documents (e.g. validation, deviations, audit reports and close-out reports).
? Define in consultation with the BU QA Manager how the Site QA team will manage the quality interface with customers and perform local coordination of the complaint management process.
? Ensure site compliance with all applicable internal and external quality requirements, food regulations and standards.
? Set up and maintain the relevant network with external stakeholders and represent the site towards external parties on quality topics and issues.
? Stay abreast of both internal and external developments with regard to quality related laws, regulations and requirements and all other quality related matters.
? Pro-actively identify potential quality and compliance risks
? Strengthen the QA capabilities of your team
? Drive a continuous Quality and Compliance improvement mind-set within the organization
? Ensure that site director is kept informed of quality performance on the site.
? Lead and coach together with BU QA Manager, the site QA team members on critical quality issues that could impact on product quality and/or safety
? Always secure that the priority setting implemented within your team activities matches with the strategy and the ambitions of the organization


The Ideal
? You have at least 6 years’ experience in Life Science, which at least 4 years in the Food or Feed sector
? You have experience in building and improving Quality systems (ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, or similar)
? You have experience in dealing with quality and regulatory requirements applicable to the food chain and especially in Chinese Market.
? You have strong project management skills.
? You are a good team player focused on continuous improvement
? You are result oriented, persuasive and pragmatic
? You have good managerial and social skills.
? You have experience as QA lead auditor in the Food Industry.
? You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English
