Requirements:
？ M.S. or Ph.D. with major in Biological Sciences or science related major or equivalent training and/or experience.
？ 5 or more for Master’s degree, 3 or more for Ph.D.
？ Specialized training in laboratory techniques used in cell biology.
？ Knowledge of GLP and cGMP guidelines.
？ Ability to make decisions based on a wide knowledge of factors where application of advanced or technical concepts in cell biology is required.
？ Ability to evaluate technical data and write technical documents.
？ Ability to use judgment as dictated by complexity of situation.
？ Ability to work under limited supervision and to handle problems of a difficult nature.

Job Descriptions:
？ Responsible for cell biology laboratory operations which includes supervising, training and evaluating personnel and timely completion of assays and associated documentation.
？ Supervises the cell culture laboratory and may perform lab assay work to support testing in newly formed business unit for biosafety testing.
？ Remains current regarding biosafety testing requirements and develops or modifies procedures for assays to fully address such issues.
？ Prepares study protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs), assists in preparing new client protocols and revises documents as needed.
？ Conducts, schedules and directs assays and scientific development projects and keeps appropriate records according to and in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and relevant SFDA and other international regulatory regulations as needed.
？ Performs additional Research & Development activities as required.
？ Manages staff within the Cell Biology group to provide services to in-house and outside customers.
？ Manages the day-to-day operation of the cell services unit to maintain cultures, provide flasks and plates of cells according to customer requests, maintain inventory and cryostorage banks
？ Schedules service calls with appropriate external service technicians.
？ Supervises, plans and reviews operations for assigned staff, including responsibility for training and evaluation of training effectiveness.
？ Managing and evaluating as well as coordinating, scheduling and assigning work.
？ Serves as a site expert in cell biology and cell culture.
？ Recommends hire/transfer/promotion/discharge and salary changes and acts on employee problems.
？ Conducts employee performance appraisals in a timely and objective manner.
？ Demonstrates leadership and support of company goals and objectives.
？ Responsible for the on-time completion of client sample testing in a GLP/cGMP compliant manner employing rigorous scientific methods.
？ Responsible for conduct of each study and generation of final report.
？ Acts as Study Director or Principal Investigator for assays and assumes all associated responsibilities.
？ Conducts critical review of test results and reports data to appropriate internal staff.
？ Interacts with pertinent internal departments (i.e. QA and Project Management) to assure that appropriate testing information is effectively communicated.
？ Interacts with subcontractors (as appropriate) and assumes responsibility to ensure timely and accurate completion of all subcontracted assays.
？ Effectively interacts with clients to address scientific and related issues.
？ Oversees routine equipment monitoring and cleaning (i.e. centrifuges, biosafety and chemical hoods, refrigerators, incubators and freezers) and keeps records according to guidelines and SOPs.
？ Responsible for initiating supply purchase and maintaining adequate laboratory components.
？ Completes all requisite training (i.e. Bloodborne Pathogen, Quality Assurance, safety, etc.).

Position Specific Responsibilities:
？ Manage, supervise and ensure training of scientists and technicians to achieve high levels of knowledge and technical competence in the following:
？ Aseptic technique
？ Cell culture
？ Cryopreservation and recovery of cells from frozen state
？ Determination of cell viability, appropriate plating and passing cell numbers
？ Production of Master and Working cell banks
？ Characterization of Working and Master cell banks
？ Oversight of cell repository
