POSITION PURPOSE:
? Responsible for providing general supervision and technical guidance to the QC Staff in setting up and maintaining quality and environmental management system, the analysis, design, testing and deployment of all *** Asia procedures tied to products approved for production and supporting new product development design and introduction of products/manufacturing and associated processes into production.
DIMENSIONS:
? Exempt position, professional position reporting to the Asia General Manager.
? Leadership position organizes work assignments to meet day to day requirements and coordinates with internal and external customers and other *** locations.
? The scope of work may require working as individual contributor and managing and training personnel at Asia with local Asia accountability and coordination with other *** production/warehousing operations outside the Asia operations.
? The Quality Manager maintains ultimate responsibility for assuring that quality and environmental management systems are working efficiently and effectively and all products are defect free and compliant with technical specifications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
? ISO Management Representative for the Asia Operations, responsible for quality and environmental management systems conformance to established standards (ISO9001&ISO14001) and continuously review and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the systems.
? Provides necessary definition, development and deployment of *** product quality assurance strategy, addressing all phases of product development.
? Directly supervises the QC inspection team on day to day production needs, setting priorities, delivery of staff performance evaluations, identifying staff training needs and career development activities.
? Analyzes quality resource requirements, prioritizes, establishes or adjusts work procedures and/or resource schedules in order to meet project objectives and schedules
? Ensures delivery against QA department goals and objectives, i.e. meeting commitments and coordinating overall Quality Assurance and QC Inspection schedules for standard production, new product development, Customer requests for technical information, Customer complaints local Asia and coordination with other *** warehouse/production locations on Customer complaints originating from Asia locations and support of Sales at all locations as need.
? Maintains product consistency throughout the product life cycle of existing products and new products to include, design, design and build phases through quality check points, testing and product introduction.
? Serves as liaison with staff and management concerning error trends and problem areas, analyze the nature and cause of errors to identify the areas needing improvement in procedures, processes, department processes and systems to implement ongoing quality improvement processes working with interdepartmental teams to reduce such errors.
? Lead and coordinate Internal Audits and Management Reviews in compliance with ISO standards to continually diagnose and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the quality and environmental management systems
? Coordinate quality department efforts with all departments to meet project schedules
? Promote the use of quality planning techniques and the use of quality improvement tools.
? Promote the use and understanding of statistical techniques throughout the Asia operations.
? Manage material and component vendors to improve supplier quality and delivery through implementation of SQE tools and techniques, e.g. supplier audit, supplier balance score card, supplier 8D…
? Confers with engineers about quality assurance on existing products and new products designed and introduced to market to rectify problems.
? Promote a continuous improvement culture through team working activities.
? Manage customer complaint team investigations ensuring response is effective and efficient. Identify complaint trends and underlying chronic problems. Visit to overseas customers may be required.
? Anticipates product release problems and takes corrective actions, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve customer commitments.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
? BS degree in industrial management, engineering or related discipline.
? Must have good English communication competencies and presentation skills.
? Minimum of 7 years quality management experience to include minimum of 3 years in lead role or management position with ISO9001:2008 and ISO14001:2004 procedures and management representative responsibility or equivalent.
? Strong analytical skills and experience with implementation and administration of Quality Management metrics, such as defect profiles (escapement –PPM) and performance profiles (yield)
? Excellent problem solving , interpersonal communication and project management skills a must
? Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner.
? Strong understanding of product design critical dimensions which control exact product performance and necessary QA/QC controls for such.
? Must have understanding of plastic molding processes and plating (i.e., gold, nickel, silver and tin) processes.
? Must have understanding of electrical harness process and qualification testing.
? Must be extremely detailed-oriented with respect to documentation and communication.
? PPAP process experience is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
? Usual office and factory floor working conditions.
? Regularly required to sit and stand, and move about the facility. Required to read documents, meters, scales, micrometers, documents and computer screens.
? Occasional exposure to QA/Engineering Labs, molding, assembly, ultrasonic welding. Plastic staking, shipping and receiving, production elements such as dust and noise.
? Occasional travels required
