1. Purposeof Role

The Cars technicianwill be accountable for servicing & maintenance of testvehicles includingsupporting vehicle field trials, chassis dynamometer&engine testing operations.

The cars technician will need to support, cars engineer in lubricant field test demonstrations &testing to determine the performance of lubricants and fuels effects. The cars technician will be responsible for maintenance and calibration of all Castrol professional workshop equipment.

The cars technician will work for the Senior Engineer to develop and deliver against agreed key customer project milestones.The role requires extensive interaction with a range of stakeholders specificallyproduct development and customer facing technologyteams.

Specifically this role supports the development and operation of unique tests in support of:
? Customer facing team OEM China
? Product development CCTC & GLT
? Product performance CCTC GLT
? Providing engineering solutions and information that facilitates the differentiation of our products.
2. Key Accountabilities
? Conducting a variety of vehicle service repairs.
? Strip & rebuild engines either to standard specifications or for differentiation testing.
? Assist intest bed installations and ensuring they are carried out to safety and quality standards at our 3rd party facility.
? Liaise withOEM technicians to ensure the agreed project work is clearly communicated to facilitate milestone delivery.
? Capable of co coordinating project tasks.
? Self-motivated.
? Able to manage own time.
3. Experience & Expertise (typical educational qualification& experience)
Educational background
HNC HND or higher in automotive or mechanical engineering discipline

Experience & Competencies Experience

? Knowledge of vehicle and operations.
? Experience of engine operating systems.
? Experience of stripping rebuilding multiple engine designs.
? Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines.
? Knowledge of gearbox both MT & ATF operations
? Knowledge of axel drive systems
