Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the position will include, but not be limited to:
- Evaluating, conducting due diligence, negotiating and executing direct investment transactions
- Researching target investment industries and markets
- Building and analyzing financial models
- Writing investment proposals and reports
- Assisting portfolio companies to succeed

Requirements:
- 3+ years prior work experience at a local investment bank, Private equity funds, equity research fund, management consultancy firm
- Deal sourcing ability preferred but not required
- Fully bilingual in English and Mandarin
- MBA, CFA, CPA or other advanced degree preferred from top schools
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
- Excellent communications skills especially in writing and delivering investment reports and presentations
- Strong analytical skills to assess and explain market trends and events
- Problem solving skills and the ability to think independently
- Willing to work long hours under tight deadline; willing to travel
- PRC citizens

SMC Capital China (“SMC3”) is part of Hong Kong based Simon Murray Group (“SMG”). Established in 1997 by Mr. Simon Murray, the former CEO of Hutchison Whampoa and Executive Chairman of Deutsche Bank Asia, SMG is one of the longest running and most prominent private equity and alternative asset investment firms in China and Asia.

SMC3 leads SMG’s China growth capital private equity investments from its Shanghai headquarters with both USD and RMB-denominated funds. SMC3 aims to be the leading international private equity manager with a nationwide presence via partnership RMB funds with Chinese local governments and strategic partners. We currently have joint venture funds and local teams established in Wuxi and Dalian and aim to grow to more cities in the coming years. SMC3’s three core investment spaces are environmental protection & energy saving, consumer & healthcare, and IT & advanced manufacturing with focus on expansion stage firms. Our partnership team consists mainly of experienced operations executives and domain experts from these three industries.
