SUMMARY
Be responsible for preparing the documentation and coordinating between local and international suppliers the import and export of products from China.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Direct, manage and review all imports and exports of merchandise to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Establish, maintain and audit company procedures and systems to assure compliance on all international trade issues, including documentation, packaging and logistics.
Develop, implement, monitor and update written procedures and systems to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Develop, implement, monitor and update procedures and systems to ensure Clients imports and exports take advantage of and satisfy the requirements of various international trade agreements.
Act as a liaison with management on all import and export issues, and create or recommend policies for importing and exporting.
Select in coordination with Logistics, instructs, manages, reviews, evaluates and liaises with Clients providers of services for imports and exports including customhouse brokers and freight forwarders. This will include visits, phone calls and written correspondence.
Oversee audit of customhouse broker and freight forwarder activities for compliance with instructions, laws and regulations.
Maintain current materials relating to Chinese import and export laws, regulations and requirements stays current on laws, regulations and requirements affecting exports and imports including reviewing trade-related publications and attending industry trade seminars.
Act as the primary liaison between Client and the Chinese government on import and export issues.
Develop innovative strategies to minimize import and export costs.
Be able to get along with others and to work in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Four year college degree, or five to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
Be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Be Competent in reading, writing and spoken English.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Prefer current driver's license (not required) and passport. Extensive knowledge of customs laws and regulations including but not limited to Reconciliation and Drawback. Must be current in, and possess the ability to accurately interpret changes in international and domestic trade regulations.
