About This Job:
Syngenta Biotechnology China (SBC) is seeking a highly motivated talent to be part of its Genome Editing Centre, as a group lead. This person will be a strategic leader and key scientific driver to establish a robust technology group/team to deliver critical genome editing technologies for Syngenta
?Responsible for developing and driving a robust strategy to position Syngenta in winning position for Genome Editing technology development
?Leading a group to drive innovation on technologies for Syngenta’s effort to improve crops via genomic editing
?Providing in-depth scientific and technical expertise on genomic editing technology to target for step changing improvements on Syngenta crops and support on crop protection research
?Managing projects and actively interacting with Syngenta leaders/scientists to ensure critical project milestones are met
?Developing and managing research collaborations worldwide to fully leverage external capabilities and expertise
?Aggressively pursuing and generating IP property for Syngenta
?Monitoring experimental records and performing all activities in compliance with Syngenta quality management and HSE guidelines
Qualifications
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
?Deep knowledge on genomic editing technology
?Broad knowledge on genome research, molecular biology and genetics, biochemistry and biophysics, agricultural biotechnology
?General knowledge in crop improvements via genomic editing is a plus, but not required;
Qualifications:
?PhD in molecular biology, genomic studies, genetics, and biochemistry and biophysics, plus 5-10+ years working experience in relevant field with a proven record of success in the form of publications and/or patents
?Direct experience in experimental design and execution to meet all challenges in genomic editing technology and product development
?Productive experience in genome editing technology research and development preferred
?Demonstrated solid experience in managing a group/team in an industry setting;
?Highly motivated, team and result oriented
?Good scientific project planning, execution and reporting skills
?Molecular biology techniques and genetics
?Proficient in use of genome analysis and bioinformatics
?Flexible in handling project change and consistently deliver in a rapidly changing environment
?Proficient in English and strong communication skills to interact with internal and external scientists
?Demonstrated strong leadership
?Self-motivated and driving for excellence
?Passion to drive innovation
?Able to influence and lead others
?Being flexible and capable of dealing with changes
?Being open-mined and collaborative
?Customer focused and result oriented
Important Additional Information:
?Early morning or late evening teleconference is required to interact with global colleagues
?Domestic and occasional international travel is required
?Role based in Changping district, Beijing
