Role Summary/Purpose
This position is to work as a lead research engineer in GE's Water & Process Technologies R&D laboratories at GE's China Technology Center. Position duties include working with cross functional teams on new product/process development, translating lab design into pilot scale to validate robust performance, and providing technical support to support business goals and programs in tough to treat wastewater treatment and reuse applications.
Essential Responsibilities
Define, design and develop innovative processes and applications for use in water
and wastewater treatment and reuse, with a focus on chemical oxidation and engineering process solutions.
* Determine most effective arrangement of unit operations exercising judgment in
balancing process requirements, economics, system robustness, and physical health hazards
* Provide technical and engineering support, customer service and non-routine problem solving for wastewater treatment and water re-use applications
* Drive execution on NTI/NPI (new technology introduction/new product introduction) and technical support projects
* Generate new ideas according to market needs and initiate new NPI/NTI projects
Qualifications/Requirements
* Ph.D. /Master in Chemical/Environmental Engineering/Applied Chemistry or equivalent.
* Ability to design, construct, modify, and operate bench-scale/pilot equipment
* 3+ years of experience in industrial R&D functions with focus on chemistry or engineering solutions to water related problems or challenges.
* Strong interpersonal skills and excellent English communication skills (job require
regular communication with US, Canada and other countries)
* Excellent problem solving skills - ability to consider overall problem, identify
opportunities and implement major changes
