Mission
The Buying Analyst reports to a Category Buying Engineer of Dragon Sourcing and is located in our Shanghai offic. He is responsible for supporting the work of the Category Buying Engineer to which he reports.

Tasks description

Support the development of detailed China supply market knowledge for a defined set of spend categories
·Conduct the external supply market analysis
·Develop and maintain database of key suppliers and suppliers’ capabilities
·Identify key stakeholders strategically relevant for categories under supervision. Develop and maintain database to manage these contacts
·Support the codification of all knowledge gained through client projects and supply market research into “category workbooks”
Support Chinese sourcing work streams on client engagements Stage 1 work
·Using Dragon Sourcing methodology, be able to collect high level category data in order to support category prioritization across a client’s entire spend portfolio
·Integrate effectively with European Dragon Sourcing to integrate Chinese supply market findings into final client report

Support Chinese sourcing work streams on client engagements Stage 2 work
·Support Strategic Sourcing project using Dragon Sourcing methodology and templates, i.e.:
·Screen and pre-select potential suppliers through a Request For Information in order to establish shortlist of suppliers to include in RFP process
·Conduct supplier quality assessments (ISO,…)
·Build Request For Proposals to short listed suppliers
·Analyze supplier responses to RFPs and develop negotiation strategies
·Support fact based negotiations with suppliers
·Participate in recommendations about which supplier(s) to select
·Support development of detailed Chinese supplier re-sourcing plan
·Communicate effectively with European Dragon Sourcing and client team to ensure buy-in throughout the entire sourcing process

Drive Chinese sourcing operations for client outsourcing relationships (Stage 3)

Qualifications
·Academic background: University degree, preferably in engineering and/or business administration, economics or other relevant discipline
·A recognized qualification in procurement would be considered an asset
·Experience: Some professional experience (1-2 years) in procurement or other related supply chain positions, preferably working in SHOES industry for a western international organization with some experience working outside of China;

·Language skills: Proficiency in English essential. Working proficiency in French is also an asset
·PC skills: High proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, Word
