Position Description:
Sr. Engineer will be responsible for developing device drivers, APIs for applications software, simple User Interface software, and support for embedded systems programming and development, both in-house, and externally, on a contract basis, specifically relating to porting of matching algorithms onto embedded platforms.
Individual will also be involved in developing application development kits for various Windows based OS platforms.

Position is responsible for issues relating to a) firmware and application software support for a hardware sensor development team to enable detailed characterization, debugging, production test and failure analysis of sensor; b) integration of sensor hardware into multiple PC based applications, and c) in the long term, for PC peripherals, cell phones and other mobile devices. Individual will also be responsible for maintaining current and legacy code, bug fixes, feature enhancements, application notes, engineering change orders, customer specific specifications, etc.

Job Requirements:
1.Directly responsible for supporting device drivers, API development as well as simple User Interface applications.
2.Support the sensor development team with application software and test development software for assistance with characterization, debugging, and failure analysis
3.Software development in Visual C++ 6.0.
4.Development and management of product specifications, test specifications, standards compliance, etc.
5.Knowledge of object-oriented programming is necessary.
6.Management of internal staffing as well as contractors and other outside resources.
7.Collaboration and interface with peer groups.

Required Experience:
1.Strong Visual C++ 6.0.
2.Strong Embedded systems development experience.
3.Familiar with oscilloscope, logic analyzer and in-circuit emulators.
4.Hardware device drivers in a variety of interfaces

Position Requirements:
1.Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or EE, with at least 10 years experience in similar environments. Master's would be preferred.
2.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with strong track record in technical customer interface and support.
3.Occasional travel may be required
