Position Description:
Responsibilities:
•Facilitate the establishment and execution of the roadmap and vision for information delivery and management; including the enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI & analytics, content management and master data management
•Establish Enterprise Data architecture Framework, Principles, Standards and Patterns
•Lead data architects and data engineers to architect and deliver the solutions that fulfill Lenovo Business information needs and align with the information vision and strategy
•Apply business strategy while driving technology strategy, balancing short term and long term needs to ensure that the architecture can scale and evolve accordingly
•Engage an end-to-end approach by connecting all the pieces of data to deliver the data while leveraging all available assets
•Evangelize Master Data Management concepts and lead the selection and implementation of appropriate MDM tools and process.
•Educate, advise and influence IT and business stakeholders in the US and China, to better understand existing data architecture risks, IT best practices, and architecture change requirements to support business and IT strategies.
•Work closely with the Lenovo Enterprise Security Architect to define data security risks, and appropriate tools, controls and best practices to mitigate the risk of Lenovo data loss.
•Help to define the principles to guide Enterprise Data Integration (EDI) decisions for the enterprise.
•Facilitate the evaluation current and future software EDI standards, with the goal of simplifying Lenovo’s landscape.
•Partner with Project teams on the implementation of EDI solutions and enforce SOA principles and standards for all integration between applications.
Position Requirements:
•Minimum eight years leading a team including architects, engineers, quality assurance, and operations professionals
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related disciplines.
• English required; Chinese a plus
•Must be visionary and strategic in approach, and demonstrated ability to apply data architectural disciplines to solve business problems.
•Strong understanding of implementation processes and best practices in Enterprise Architecture
•Must work independently with minimal direction with superior organizational skills
•Strong relationship building and mentoring skills with the ability to drive change and issues resolution.
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and Ability to articulate technical aspects in an executive manner to present to senior management
•Experience with TOGAF enterprise architecture framework.
•Familiarity with information systems management practices (e.g. ITIL, CMMI, etc.).
•Established experience delivering information management solutions to large numbers of end users
•Experience with overall Application Architecture in Master Data Management (MDM) with understanding of different components at the business, technology and data layers
•Demonstrated understanding of enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI & analytics, content management and data management
•Experience with three or more vendors in any of the following areas including; DB2, Data Stage, Informatica, DB2/UDB, SQL Server, Oracle 11g, Netezza, Greenplum, SAP HANA, NoSQL, Hadoop, SAS, SPSS, SAP Business Objects, SAS and other Analytics Vendors with BI components
•Experience with SAP and data integration with Cloud solutions like Salesforce is a bonus
