Syngenta Beijing Innovation center, the center of excellence for genome editing is seeking for a highly responsible and self-motivated talent to join the Transformation Group.

As a Research Scientist, this person will play a key role in developing & improving function capability & efficiency, and delivering research projects. He/she will:

• Take accountability& responsibility in research projects; engage in project planning and execution; coordinate project activities within function and ensure timely & high quality project delivery.
• Develop new crop transformation platforms/systems; improve existing transformation process and protocols to increase efficiency and reduce cost.
• Proactively propose new ideas and drive innovation; create IP.
• Implement transformation experiments and generate transgenic / genome editing event for multiple crops.
• Fully and accurately maintain experimental records and performe all activities in compliance with Syngenta quality management, IP and HSE guidelines
• Proactively engage in cross-team/functional interaction and project management to ensure critical objectives and milestones are timely delivered.
• Coach and mentor young scientists, provide in-depth technical expertise on transformation technology for major crops. 

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

• PhD preferred or MS in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, and plant biotechnology plus 3+ years in Ag industry
• Experienced in in-vitro technologies and plant transformation
• Good knowledge/experience on agricultural biotechnology, especially GM and genome editing research
• Good analytical and trouble shooting skills
• Experience in project management and people management is preferred

• Role based in Syngenta Beijing Innovation Center, Changping District, Beijing, China
• Occational weekend duty and early morning or late evening teleconference to interact with global colleagues
