Position Title:       Project Engineer (Electrical Concentration)

 

 

Job Descriptions:

 

Lead the technical development of new and existing products with supplier(s) ensuring project timing. Lead the process development with suppliers ensuring the process is efficient and proper and Propose countermeasures when there are problems. Lead suppliers to design and manufacture products that meet the quality, cost, performance, and safety specifications. Coordinate with different levels of management from suppliers to ensure a successful product development meeting the deadline.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

• Analyze existing and new product design, including mechanical and electrical design verification.

• Work with suppliers to optimize the design and function of electrical devices, as well as implement high quality manufacturing and testing of electrical components and systems. Propose countermeasures to address design issues.

• Assist Corporate Quality Engineers in generating appropriate product verification testing and finished product inspection criteria for electro-mechanical products.

• Identify critical components in electrical circuits and generate specifications for required reliability and performance.

• Establish and track project schedules, coordinate and work closely with different levels of vendor and cross-function team, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects to achieve the target timeline and milestones;

• Support suppliers on process setup and lead the process validation/verification to ensure product quality consistency

• Work with vendor to through identify root cause of quality issues, work out short-term and long-term solution independently; Deeply involved in CAPA & SCAR management, effective and timely closure;

• Lead supplier process& production control (P&PC) audit, make corrective plan for effective P&PC improvement, track the progress to ensure actions are implemented and sustained; Develop and update checklist for supplier P&PC;

• Continuously work with vendor to optimize the process and seek opportunity for kaizen project;

• Provide technical support and share knowledge to the team when needed;

• Provide effective training to new engineers, cross-function team, and suppliers;

• Other tasks assigned by leader;

   

   

  Qualifications:

• Requires a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Requires 3 years’ experience in product development and/or  supplier quality management, the experience in durable medical equipment is preferable

• Well organized, detail oriented and has the flexibility to prioritize and handle multiple assignments and meet expectation;

• High regard for personal accountability and understand the critical importance of commitment;

• Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese;

• Must be capable of supervising out-of-house projects and effectively interact with suppliers and build reputation of various levels of management;

• Quick responses; share information pro-actively with positive intent, escalate complex decision to right organization level.

• Exception handling;

• Rich knowledge of quality management and manufacturing process. Solid problem-solving ability, good at utilizing QC tools and statistics skills, familiar with DOE, FMEA is preferable.

• It’s preferable if candidate is a certified quality system auditor for ISO9001, ISO13485 and QS9000 etc.

• Familiar with industry safety standards like IEC60601-1, and experience with third party laboratories like UL, SGS, ETL, Intertek, etc.  preferred.

• Travel 50-80% (within China and overseas)
